Publisher's summary

Loyalty. Respect. Wit. Aggression. Heart.

Each word describes the Slater brothers and how they were molded into the men they are today...but what did it take to get them where they are?

Pain. Disregard. Fear. Anger. Love.

Peeling back each layer to find the brothers’ core means looking at their past to see how they got their future, from overcoming family feuds and breaking a warlord's hold on them to moving to another country and finding women who make their world spin.

The Slater brothers idolize their women, and what the Slater brothers idolize, the Slater brothers guard.

Family is Everything

I've listened to this entire series and I can say the bond between these brothers is PHENOMENAL.
I can only hope that the author continues with the SLATER FAMILY

Love those Slater Bros.!! Wonderful 💥💥

This book was well compiled and narrated. I loved that the author compiled short stories and chapters on each of the Slater Brothers and told their stories and how they each had to deal with suffering and abuse during their younger years, awful parents and eventually finding trust, love and rock solid loyalty between them all.
The stories noted how they overcame so many obstacles and demons, not always gracefully but their love for one another as brothers was the glue that kept them together.
They also found the love of their lives during each journey. It took me a while to finish as I listened to a few other Slater books in between and this was a very good series.
And Jason Clarke is one of my favorite narrators and his voices were awesome. Thank you Jason Clarke and to the author as well.

HOLY COW!

BRAVO to Jason Clarke! He gave life to each and every character. His Irish brogue is flawless! I knew Jason was talented but holy cow he knocked this one out of the park. Loved the story. It's funny and heartbreaking, too. There's a chapter I had to skip because of the subject matter. I'm SO glad a warning was provided beforehand. Otherwise, I would not have been able to finish the book. I did, however, did have to take a break from it because the brothers' lives as single men was very tough one. They over came the worst life there at them and walked away victorious. A great group of men: loving Brothers throughout their lives; good, caring, loving husbands and dads.

straight up amazing

lost track of the number of times this made me laugh out loud, made me cry, made me have to turn it off and walk away for a bit before I could continue. simply incredible. got it through AE but have already purchased it. Would love to listen to the other books but they are all read by females and i don't enjoy that. jason does an amazing job. this book.... just wow. read it, listen to it, something, just don't miss it
Re-listened 2-21 so love this book. Takes a look at each brothers' current lives and them as parents. Then it jumps to their childhoods, back and forth.
1st part focuses on Dominic with tiny peeks into the other boys lives. So much abuse and pain and brotherly love. Dominic was made to fight as a child. His daughter was the only girl born to the brothers and she is growing up.
Part 2 - Alec - one of the most disturbing stories I've ever heard. Sexual abuse, blackmail, so much pain. Then it gets very funny for awhile before jumping right back into manipulation and abuse.
Part 3 - Cain - they decided to make him an enforcer cut and tortured him into compliance.

Best of the series

This book shows the brothers POV from the previous books. It also delves into the Slater children too. So much better and the narration was way better than the previous books. It will be interesting to see if the author makes a spinoff series with the Slater kids or Collins Brothers.
