About this listen

On an icy winter's day in southwest Michigan, Grace Abbot wakes up as the survivor of a car crash. But she's left with a traumatic brain injury and a terrifying reality: she can't remember anything.

Left in the care of her sister, Grace returns to the family's secluded old farmhouse to recover - but within an hour of her return, the police arrive. Grace's boyfriend has been murdered. Without any memory, Grace has no alibi.

With suspicion weighing heavily on her and flashes of memory returning, Grace searches for clues to her past. But with every glimpse, her anxiety grows. There is something about the house, her family, her childhood...perhaps the accident isn't the only reason she can't remember. Are the dark recesses of her mind hiding something even more sinister and terrifying than she could ever imagine?

And someone is watching. Someone willing to kill again to protect a secret.

Excellent read

Fascinating twist and turns, unexpected happenings, language could have held less slang and unneeded trash talk, but the story itself kept you enraptured right to the end. Thank you for sharing your talent.:-D

Good story, great narration, but 😖

Great "who done it" mystery. Didn't have a predictable ending, but there were way too many F bombs. Why do authors like that word so much. It's still offensive to some of us. I would love audible to have a content rating system.

Great listen

Great listen. I really enjoyed having multiple narrators. I wish more audiobooks were done this way.

This story is very dark

This story was compelling and interesting. The problem I had was that the ending was very dark. I don't think I would be have listened to it if I realized. There are plenty of secrets, but as questions are resolved, they are replaced by the main character recalling events of her life that I would have rather not heard.

The smarminess of officer hack really got on my nerves

The story was written well, the tension and drama were great. But in the end the male lead just really seemed very cardboard and teenage angsty.

Didn't see that end coming

Would you listen to Broken Grace again? Why?

Probably not but I am recommending it to everyone I know.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Grace up until she started making absurd choices like confronting people she knows is psychotic.

Have you listened to any of Emily Sutton-Smith and Scott Merriman ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and pretty much did.

Any additional comments?

I can usually figure out the ending of the book before it ends and I thought I had with this one but then surprise surprise what I thought was the end wasn't. Totally missed that curve ball they threw.
