About this listen

I lost her once. I won’t lose her again.

After my brother’s death, I was drowning.
Delilah was my life raft.
We were opposites, the outspoken art student and the brooding athlete. She was passionate where I was apathetic, bright where I was dark, soft where I was hard.
For two years, we had everything. The kind of love that only exists in fairy tales.
Then she left and took my heart with her.
I tried to heal. To throw myself into medical school. To forget her.
I thought I did.
Until today.
Those blue eyes, that sweet smile, the soft curves--that's my Delilah.
As soon as I hear her laugh, I know.
She's what’s missing from my life.
I have three days to get her back.
God, I hope I'm as charming as I used to be.

My Thoughts on Broken

Broken by Crystal Kaswell is the newest standalone by this author and this one is very heavy on the angst. But it also has two people who clearly have a very deep love.

Delilah and Trent met in college and while they didn't have much in common on the surface, they have an amazing connection the moment they actually give themselves a chance to get to know one another. Their relationship is very intense. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of them and what I just read. There are secrets that tore them apart and are preventing them from being together. But that pull is just too strong to be denied.

One of my favorite parts of this book was Trent's siblings. He had the meddle and butt in your life kind of relationship with them because they clearly loved each other. But there family has also been through a great loss that has affected them all differently. I feel like each of Trent's siblings have their own story just waiting to be told, and I hope I get to read them some day.

Overall this was a good story, with lots of emotions and tugs on the heart strings. The narration was exceptional though. There were moments that Kai and Wen had me tearing up with their amazing performance. This is a must listen to story.

Another amazing story from Crystal Kaswell!!

Disclaimer: I received a ARC of this story from the author for my honest review.

Everything about this story was amazing. Kai and Wen did another amazing job narrating the story, bringing to life Crystal's characters. Her stories are so relatable, and the way she works in the different emotions makes you connect with her characters even more. Listening to her story helped me escape from my current situations, which is hard to do by most authors, but Crystal never fails me. She writes her stories so vividly that it is like you are the fly on the wall, watching the story unravel right in front of you. Do yourself a favor and make sure you read/listen to her work. You will not regret it.

More Please of the Stone Family.

Really enjoyed this book. Can't wait to hear more on the other family members, and how everyone gets through the hard times that cross their paths.

Takes you on an emotional journey

Delilah and Trent are in a two year relationship when Delilah abruptly cuts ties with just a note. Two years pass without contact, leaving Trent wondering where things went wrong. Now, back in town for her sister's wedding, Trent realizes he only has three days to try and fix their past mistakes and figure out what really happened. Their sexual chemistry was absolute magic and there was so much emotion in their backstory that you really needed the past and present to fully get in their mindset.

The narrators for this entire series are so on point, the dual POV in separate voices really sets the tone and makes you feel what the characters are going through. There was some really heavy themes throughout and I loved every minute of their rollercoaster relationship and couldn't put this down. I recieved an advance copy of this audio book and this is my honest review.

Opposites Outspoken Art Student & Brooding Athlete

Broken is a second chance romance that doesn't follow the usual cookie cutter romance. This novel digs deep into a topic not openly talked about. Trent and Delilah's romance is something real and believable as it reflects real life. The writing style captures the essence of the narrative. I love that each chapter begins with a title & section along with who's POV. I like the set up and how it plays out with going back and forth between the past and the present. This creates a well crafted narative that flows through smoothly and at the right pace & tone. Characters are brainy, marred, and opposites that hold each other together. Supporting character's play a crucial role as their actions reflect how these two deal with their own demons. Deliah holds a the secret of why she left that keeps you captivated and craving the answer to her secret as its unguessable. Little hints are are played our but you won't figure it out. Deliah & Trent will leave you temptuious. I absolutely loved the epilogue as it crop up in a away that polishes off a perfect HEA. I hope more books are created about the supporting character's.

The narration told in dual pov with the best narators. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross narrates a beautiful story showcasing a flawlessly performance. These two together are a perfect pair as everything from the tone, pace, smoothness, to the angst & chemistry is nailed in a way that delivers a story that resembles real life.

Delilah and Trent

This is a beautifully written book about a real hard subject. It is also a nice second chance story. It grabbed me in the beginning but it finally reeled me in. I would still recommend this book and I loved the duet narration. Sisters Spotlight 💕

Superb!!!

Kai and Wen are seriously amazing! their voices really make you feel the intensity of Del and Rents's relationship! They bring Crystal's words to life and make you want more! Delilah and Trent's story is one of amazing courage, true love that withstands all, and so many trial and tribulations! Crystal held Del's secret over our heads the whole story leaving me constantly guessing what it could be that she was hiding. The sensitive matter of this story was handled and written in the most beautiful manner I have ever read! I hope we hear more from the Stone family in the future!!!

A must listen

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love all of Crystals books and the way that Kai and Wen Narrate them. Those two are easy to listen to and are for sure my top choice when it comes to listening to someone narrate a book. The story itself is also so amazing. Trent and Deliah story was so emotional and was a roller coaster ride that will pull you in and have you hoping for them to get the happiness they deserve. This is a must listen to story because it is well written and has amazing narration.

A must listen!

It is different from most of Crystal’s stories but does not disappoint, quite the opposite actually. She dives deep into a not so discussed topic that I think should be discussed more and does an amazing job with it. Trent and Delilah’s story is so real and honest. It sucks you in wondering what caused her to leave and then you fall hard when you find out and just deepens your love for the characters. It’s much different from the fall hard rock stars and tattoo artist stories, which I love. It’s much more deep and you get so much more story line with the bouncing back and forth from past to present. A lot of authors can not transition well with that but Crystal obviously knows what she is doing there.

God story!💜

Good story, great narration but it didn’t have the WOW factor for me! This is my first book by Crystal Kaswell but I would love to try her again.
