About this listen

This program is read by the author. It includes a bonus PDF visual guide, breathing exercise, meditation and 14-day inspirational pep talk.

Insomnia? Gone. Anxiety? Gone. All without medication. Unpleasant side effects from blood pressure pills? Gone. A cheap and effective way to combat cardiovascular disease, immune dysfunction, obesity, and GI disorders? Yes. Sounds too good to be true? Believe it.

Contemporary science confirms what generations of healers have observed through centuries of practice: Breath awareness can turn on the body’s natural abilities to prevent and cure illness. The mental and physical stresses of modern life, such as anxiety, frustration, sexual dysfunction, insomnia, high blood pressure, digestive woes, and immune dysfunction can all be addressed through conscious control of your breath. In addition, it can increase energy, accelerate healing, improve cognitive skills, and enhance mental balance.
Yet most of us stopped breathing in the anatomically “right” way, the way to take advantage of these benefits, when we were four or five years old. We now mostly breathe in a way that is anatomically incongruous and makes for more illness. Dr. Vranich tells listeners how to turn back the tide of stress and illness, and improve the overall quality of their life through a daily breathing workout. In a fascinating, straightforward, jargon-free exploration of how our bodies were meant to breathe, Dr. Belisa Vranich delves into the ins and outs of proper breathing. By combining both anatomy and fitness with psychology and mindfulness, Dr. Vranich gives listeners a way of solving health problems at the crux and healing themselves from the inside out. BREATHE is an easy-to-follow guide to breathing exercises that will increase energy, help lose weight, and make listeners feel calmer and happier.

Life Changing

I can’t believe how helpful this book is. As a lifelong asthmatic I was blown away by how much this book helps me. Breathing may be automatic but breathing correctly makes all the difference

Belisa Vranich makes so much sense…

Everyone should listen to this.
Belisa Vranich makes so much sense, as she explains how proper breathing has such a great influence on our lives.
Breathing is so automatic that many of us don’t even think about it, or how it influences our lives.
I’m glad that I stumbled across this audio book, and I really appreciate Belisa’s clear voice, and her adept handling of the subject of breathing.

I am very thankful I picked up this book

I am very thankful I picked up this book.
I have lost count of the number of books, tapes and downloads in have tried about breathing. Some of them mentioned in this audio. It was the presentation and the ease with the narrator gave the material. I finshed in just a couple of days . Already notice a difference! Wow!

Very helpful

If you could sum up Breathe in three words, what would they be?

Relaxing, helpful, useful.

What did you like best about this story?

This gave really good techniques for getting rid of anxiety and learning how to re-breath. I listened to this out of desperation as I had been suffering from panic and anxiety due to work related stress. This really helped, and I was happily surprised. It was worth the money.

I assume it's a good methodology but several probs

If you're highly organized and motivated then go for it but it won't be pleasant to go through this choppy story. I assume the breathing method is helpful but it's not a good book for audio purposes, the pdf is very poorly constructed and the audio performance leaves a lot to be desired.

The author isn't that clear in the actual concrete steps for the listener to take to implement this program, the pdf doesn't clarify it either.

The audio performance feels phony and highly formulaic. She literally says, "sidebar" when she makes a side bar comment. At the end of each chapter she rattles off an example of a purported student that's done well with this program, which felt very infomercial like. We already bought the book, skip the infomercial. She also adds obviously disingenuous laughs and false intonations.
