About this listen
The continuation of the award-winning Taking Medusa, Dark Gods Rising Series.
Caught in a deal with the King of the Underworld, Medusa must learn to embrace her power and conquer the darkness in her own mind to protect the dark gods and free herself from the ties that bind her. Reconciling the truth of the past and accepting control over her future, she discovers the strings of fate aren't so easily unraveled. Hades and Poseidon play games with her life, but with the help of new and old allies she pushes to reclaim her destiny for herself. She just didn't expect her heart to play such a vital role in deciding what fate she fights for while the very lives of the deathless gods hang in the balance.
Dive into this slow-burn fantasy adventure with a romance that defies prophecy in this captivating continuation of Medusa's untold story.
Using current known Greek myths as we know them and retelling them from Medusa’s perspective. After all, history is written by the victors, and the bards got the story all wrong. Poets were influenced by the reigning Olympians, and Medusa still lives and she's fighting through fate to become whole so she can save the very gods that wish to destroy her to keep the one who's stolen her heart.
A paranormal myth and legends adventure romance, plot with spice, that will have you listening well past your bedtime to know what happens next as the dark gods rise up and prove being a hero is a matter of perspective and plot twists that will have you squirming for more.

5++ stars for this brilliant romantasy
Story Impressions – Torn between her love for Poseidon and her attraction to Hades, Medusa finds herself a pawn in a game between gods. Fate is elusive but meant to be broke. Which path will Medusa choose?
If you’re like me and can’t get enough romantasy, you’re in for a treat with Breaking Fate. The audiobook is even better than the book because the author narrates it. She imbues subtlety and foreshadows better than anyone. While listening, I was on the edge of my seat. Trust me, you’ll love it.
Narrator’s overall voice – Stevie has a dazzling voice with great personality to it. She takes each character and brings them to light using inflection.
Does the narrator fit the characters? Yes, she does. Stevie uses her voice as an instrument, so each character has their own voice. From Medusa to Hades to Poseidon to the rest of the characters, Stevie recreates with emotion and tension.
Narrator’s reading style – Stevie’s reading style is effortless, and I found it easy to get caught up in the story. The pronunciation is clear, no matter which character is speaking.
Narrator’s impact on reading experience – Stevie adds a new level of enjoyment for me. Her characterizations are brilliant, and I would listen to it again and again.
Narrator’s pacing – The pacing is well done with plenty of dramatic pauses so the reader can follow along without getting lost.
Audiobook flow – The audiobook flowed from start to finish with the right balance of subtlety and emotion. I didn’t want to stop reading.
What makes this audiobook unique – What makes this unique is the storyline and the way Stevie brings it to life. I just finished reading it and I want to read it again.
Would I recommend this audiobook – YES! I would recommend this to any reader looking for a romantasy or monster romance or even Greek mythology retelling. There are a full cast of characters and Stevie brings each one to life.
