About this listen

It's criminally cozy.

A mind reader. Talking pets. An arrogant homicide detective. A murder club. And a corpse.

Welcome to the club. Getting in was easy. Getting out can be murder.

Living in Brambleberry Bay is proving to be a real killer.

My name is Hattie Holiday, and I can read minds. Sure people have all kinds of rogue thoughts running around up there, but I’m far more interested in using my special abilities to talk to my cat, Cricket, and whatever other furry creature I happen to come upon.

Recently, I’ve lost my job at the public library but lucky for me a position opened up at the local country club, as an events coordinator, and I happened to secure the position. And since my love for books follows me wherever I go, not only will I have extravagant affairs to supervise but I’ve already snagged a few people to start a book club with.

Sure the country club is pretentious and smells of old and new money, but I knew that going in. What I didn’t bargain for was finding a body right out the gate. And that book club I’ve just started up? Let’s just say the book club is out and the murder club is in. What I didn’t see coming were the secrets, and the deception, and the killer twist of a lifetime.

Living in Brambleberry Bay can be a real killer.

Artificial Intelligence … ugh!

This could have been more enjoyable with a human doing the reading. AI is 98% flat emotions and I lost track of how many times words were mispronounced. This particular story had a lot of inner thoughts being spoken or heard from various characters with no difference in voice to tell them apart. This made it difficult to follow. I suggest you stop trying to save money and hire a human to read it. The way it is now I fall asleep in 15 min

AI voice made me stop listening

The AI narrator had no inflection. Ever character sounded the same. I couldn’t even finish the book so not sure if the story was good or not. Now I’ll have to buy the book and read it rather than listen to it. STOP PUTTING PEOPLE OUT OF WORK FOR AI technology bc the AI is awful.

Pretty good plot

The story/plot was good. The narration took a lot from it. If a real person had performed/read the story would have been much better.

Great story - Narration blah!

The story line is great and loved all the characters. However the narrator done by Artificial Intelligence, has a long way to go! It was difficult to tell which character was speaking as the voice tone was always the same. The voices used were very monotone. There were a few times when she almost sounded human. but there was no emotion, inflection or personally. I found this book very hard to follow due to no change in the voice tone used.
