About this listen

War is coming.

One way or another, the outcome will forever change the Sixth Realm.

Egan once thought his life would be marked with loneliness and invisibility in order to protect the fact that he’s actually a dragon, until meeting Prince Raiden. Now, he’s thrust into a world he never imagined he would be a part of. He's willing to find his place in Raiden’s world to be with the man he loves.

As prince, Raiden feels the weight of the impending battle and the lives of his people in peril. Everything hangs in the balance. He finds hope, strength, and refuge in the love he has in Egan, and wants to cherish every moment while they can.

When the day arrives, Raiden and Egan march to war. Two soldiers bound together, bound both with duty and love.

Great follow up

I enjoyed the story and seeing the two leads save the day and find acceptance for every part of themselves. It does end on a cliffhanger, bit the next book is available, so that's not a huge deal. Interesting world building, fun read.

fantastic!! loved egan and raiden!!

I think even better than the first, story in the series, Of Heat and Wings. This story immediately picks up where we left off and follows the first story. The battle is relatively short but revealing! I was anxious listening to this story because I was worried something bad would happen, but the author wasn’t done with the twist yet. My only gripe is that we are left on a massive cliffhanger!! I seriously loved this story sooo much. Talia Carver does a great job with the narration. Overall, a fantastic addition to the series!

I love this series!

I really love this series Raiden and Egan are so sweet and supportive of each other. I love how the king is supportive of Raiden and just wants him to be happy. The whole process of getting ready for battle and fighting was too short to be realistic, but it fits a YA storyline. The story has very little real drama or angst, it's mostly just a sweet, engaging story. I loved the way Tarrock turned out to not be as much of an ogre as he initially seemed. I loved the way he and Egan each made an effort to connect and make amends. There is a big of a soft cliffhanger that leads into the next book. I can't wait.

The narrator was new to me. It was a good job with unique voices. I liked how Raiden and the king sounded similar (to my ears anyway), just like you might expect from a father and son.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Great book

This is the second book in the series and it starts where the first one ended. I'm really enjoying the series. I like the characters and I like the world too. This book was mostly focused on the relationship between Raiden and Egan. I liked the development, they were very sweet together. There was a scene during the battle that really surprised me. The book ends with a cliffhanger and I'm going to start the next one right away. Also, I loved how the narrator voiced the characters.

Into the spotlight

Unlike many series, the second book here doesn’t drag a bit but is instead filled with a lot of content, action, and a fair amount of drama. Amid all the action and the revelations, Raiden and Egan grow even closer, with their fledgling feelings becoming a once-in-a-lifetime heart bond. The characters, their feelings, the various degrees of acceptance all combine into a wonderful story that appeals to more than just YA readers. I’m not fond about the cliffhanger at the end, but at least this time around I can dive right in to the next story. Talia Carver did a good job narrating the story and characters,so this is one I’ll be happy to repeat listen.

Really good

I loved this book. It's full of the action and drama I was missing in the first book, the characters are well rounded and are able to adjust to what's going on around them. They are both lovely and the way the narrator portrays them is perfect. I didn't feel lost because the narration was spot on in many instances, which for this type of series is hard to do. Very good

Loving this series so far!!

This book is more action packed and has a lot going compared the first 2 in the series.

I had so much fun listening to this one.

The narrator as always, performed an exemplary audio delivery and narration.

Love this m/m fluffy dragon romance!

I absolutely love this series, and this next volume doesn't disappoint! how wonderful to have a Prince fall in love with a male peasant, who also happens to be a dragon?? YES!

This volume adds danger and excitement to the story, and the cliffhanger had me freaking out, in a good way!

The narrator was really good, I'm glad the author kept the same narrator, I hate when it changes. they did great with the emotional scenes. But I have to say I didn't like the voice effect they used for speaking in dragon. It actually annoyed me a bit, but otherwise a good narrator, needs more experience with different voices, especially the minor side characters.
