Publisher's summary

The islands of Britain and Ireland hold a rich heritage of plant folklore and wisdom, from the magical yew tree to the bad-tempered dandelion. Here are traditional tales about the trees and plants that shape our landscapes and our lives through the seasons. They explore the complex relationship between people and plants, in lowlands and uplands, fields, bogs, moors, woodlands and towns.

Ok narration

Would benefit from better local pronunciation, place names and Irish words such as uisce beatha are mispronounced

Loved It

I loved all these little folk tales, and thought the narrator did an excellent job bringing them to life. Its always nice to find a solid collection of folk lore to listen to between longer, heavier books. These stories breathe to life an era of a time not so long ago when the world was simpler and more wondrous.

Wee Folk, Giants and Witches. Oh, My!

A wonderful reading of Botanical Folktales. It's full of stories of wee folks, giants and witches all related to plants both domestic and wild.

I was mesmerized. If you're a fan of British folklore and mythology, you will surely love this book.

One of my new favorites!

This story teller is one of those that make you wish you were curled up next to a fireplace with a delicious drink as you listen to them regale the stories of old. 💖

Interesting & entertaining

Without giving any spoilers: I enjoyed the story, and how much it drew on folklore instead of simply common interpretations of the fae.

Very cute

Great narration, she had excellent inflection. I love the little stories, and I also really appreciated the back story behind the plants.
