Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes the thrilling conclusion to her beloved Flesh and Fire series…

The line between love and obsession has never been wider.

While Sera is finally free of Kolis and back with those she loves, not everything is calm. Memories of all she’s endured still haunt her, but Sera finally has hope for a future with the other half of her heart and soul. Nyktos desires, loves, and accepts every part of her—even the monstrous bits she still battles.

More than ever, Sera and Ash have everything under the realms to fight for, and Nyktos has no doubt Sera is fit to be the Queen of the Gods. But she must find that faith within herself if they hope to convince the other Courts to support them against Kolis and make Iliseeum and the mortal realm better, safer places for all.

But as Sera begins to piece together the importance of her bloodline and the true meaning behind the foreboding prophecy, it becomes clear that everything that has happened and is yet to come is much bigger than Kolis and his dark obsessions.

They cannot help but wonder exactly how much influence the Fates have had and what their ultimate goal is. What Sera does know for sure is that they can trust very few—including her.

A battle between the gods is brewing, and heartbreaking losses are imminent with the true Primal of Death strengthening. With a family of the heart willing to battle by their side, can Sera and Nyktos stop Kolis before he destroys the realms, or will it all disappear in a fiery inferno of blood and ash?

And the line between justice and vengeance has never been so thin.

It ok

I liked the story overall. It could have used more action but really I was tired of all the sex. Basically what this turned into a book of introspection and sex.
Every other conversation was them having sex lol it got to the point where I just would skip over it. I have 14 hours left to listen and I’m sure there will be atleast 10 more. The storyline was her in her head and whining but I guess I understand as her character. Not to much growth beyond that but maybe… I have 14 more hours but I got bored while listing to them have sex so decided to write this lol

Speechless

Have you ever finished a book and just had no words to say because you’re so happy with how everything turned out? I will be coming back to visit these characters and reread the series multiple times in the future!

Lots of heat pooling

This book was worlds above the previous. I had no expectations for this book since I was pretty disappointed by the lack of progress made in A Shadow in the Ember. I loved what we learn about Sera’s bloodline and the prophecy. I had a hard time with Sera’s anxiety. She was a hot mess and got frequent panic attacks and episodes of severe anxiety which in turn gave me anxiety. Honestly, I had to take a pause several times because she was panicking so much I needed a break. The level of her anxiety is crippling and not suited for a person in power. She eventually quits being so stubborn and gets things under control which was a relief. Sera also seems to have a condition where heat is constantly pooling low in her belly 😂. Overall I really enjoyed this book but I gave it 4 ⭐️’s because I felt like there were a few loose ends. I would have loved to discover Callum’s motivations. It doesn’t make sense that he helped Kolis cage Sotoria against her will. Is his only motivation to help the Queen in From Blood and Ash to wake Kolis? I don’t understand his loyalty to Kolis. Secondly, I would like to know what happened with Sera and Ash’s sons? Do they become evil? What’s the real story behind their motivation for coming to the mortal realm since Sera says no one in her bloodline will lust for power? Hopefully some light will be shed in the next Blood and Ash book.

SO GOOD!!

Amazing listen!! I started the series at the right time, so the day I finished the 3rd book this one came out! (I’ve also listened to the ‘future’ books). The story was amazing, and I feel like it did a good job wrapping up this series while setting up for the rest of the books in the connected series!!

Loved it

Loved the ending. I felt like it took a while for the storyline to get started. It had a little too much spice and less storyline, still loved it and can’t wait the next blood and ash series book.

There are no words!!!

The F&F series was something I picked up, to chase the FBAA hangover but OMG! I waited for 6 months for BOBAA and now the absolute NEED for POBAB is unreal! The story has left me in shambles! 😉

Terrific!

What a glorious end to the Flesh series and extraordinary start to blood and ash even if thousands of years before. Jennifer has delivered, as always, an amazing soul crushing read!

Literally speechless!

I've been waiting in anticipation for this release for months and it did not disappoint!

JLA had done a masterful job of weaving the intricate threads of this series and the FBAA series together, creating a universe I have every intention of revisiting often.

In an effort to avoid spoilers, I'm refraining from pouring my favorite quotes, but GODS, there are so many quotable parts of this book!

And Attes!!! I've liked him throughout the series - even when he did things that were questionable, but over the course of this book, I feel in love with him, and shed more than a few tears on his behalf.

That's the final thing - tears! SO MANY TEARS! I STRONGLY recommend you approach this book with a fresh box of tissues, a huge amount of chocolate, and lots of alcohol. It's a helluva wild ride.
