Publisher's summary

A new thriller based on the true story of LA’s first known serial killer.

In 1919, Kathryn Wombacher finds a lonely-hearts ad placed by one Walter Andrew:

"Would be pleased to correspond with a refined young lady or widow. Object, matrimony.”

Kathryn and Walter fall in love and marry within weeks.

What Kathryn doesn’t know...is that her new husband is really James “Bluebeard” Watson, a notorious West Coast serial killer who catfished and married 22 women, murdering 10.

Based on newly unearthed evidence, Bluebeard is the definitive story of a sociopath who wielded love as a deadly weapon.

And it’s the story of a woman who discovered the unthinkable about her husband...and dared to fight back.

Thrilling Novella

This book is a dramatized true crime re-telling of a 1920s killer. It was fun from start to finish. The suspense was good without dipping into the terror range. There wasn't a lot of "pain porn" where the grisly details and hyper fixation of violent death sometimes makes a book hard to hear. Th narrators were great!

Riveting!!

This story provided the nostalgia of a different era but was every bit as enthralling as a modern day suspense filled story. I found myself drawn in from the very first few minutes and it didn’t stop until the very end. There were no pesky lulls/ boring lags in the storyline. It kept my interest throughout. I simply could not stop until it was through. I highly suggest this book for anyone interested in true crime. This may not have been a mystery but the story unfolded in such a way that the listener was always eager for more details. Fantastic story.

True Story!!!

This is a wonderful listen! Plot moves quickly and the narration was superb! I would suggest Googling his name: James P. Watson "Bluebeard" and see his face and all of the women too! I wish I had done that in the beginning so that I could have the face to associate with the story This is definitely a biok I wiuld recommend!
