About this listen
All she wanted was one last summer at the beach house...
It's blue skies ahead as nearly everyone in the beach house is focused on the wedding that's about to take place.
With her old house now up for sale, Claire has agreed to do something she's never done before: make the wedding cake. It's a big challenge, maybe too big, but she wants to prove to herself that she can do it. She also wants to impress Danny.
Roxie has her hands full with all of the wedding details, along with helping her daughter, Trina, with odds and ends at the soon-to-be-open salon. She's glad to be busy but knows it's a temporary thing. More than anything, she wants to be needed. She just has to figure out how to find the right place for herself.
The wedding is a beautiful beachside event that brings everyone together, but that doesn't mean everyone's happy to be there. Is trouble on the horizon for someone in the beach house?

Story
Harper Calhoun lives a pretty rarified life. She's the personal confidant of Hollywood's elite. But she does more than rub elbows with them. She helps them make big decisions, gives them advice when they need it, and coaches them on how to deal with the pressures of fame. She's even dating one of the biggest superstars. But when the spotlight turns on her, she's the one who can't deal with the pressure. The risk is too great that the truth about who she really is will be exposed.

Story
When the Chambers sisters receive an invitation from their jet-setting aunt to spend the entire month of December at the family's cabin in Asheville, North Carolina, they have one question—why? The retreat, tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, may be the site of many happy childhood holidays and summers, but it also holds sad memories. The sisters and their aunt have spent twenty-five years avoiding the cabin and renting it to strangers. Why would Aunt Elizabeth want her "dearest darling" nieces to put their busy lives in three different states on hold and spend a month in the mountains?

Margaret Dane Clayton has spent her entire life at the Dane Crown Inn, the beautiful resort in the quiet beachside town of Emerald Bay. But the inn once hailed as the "gem of Florida's Treasure Coast" is showing its age, much like its fiercely independent owner. Margaret swears she'll keep the doors of the inn open forever—until an accident forces her to accept that she can no longer cater to guests on her own. After reaching the most difficult decision of her life, Margaret asks her daughter and nieces to grant her one final wish before she places the property on the market.

Story
When Eliza Whitney loses both her beloved husband and her high-powered job in the same month, she’s uncertain what the next chapter of her life will look like. At 53, she’s too young to retire and too old to start over. Then her estranged father’s widow contacts her and asks her to come to Sanibel Island to help settle his affairs. Eliza sees the trip to a place called Shellseeker Beach as a distraction from her loss and maybe a way to get some closure on the difficult relationship she'd had with her father.

An easy beach read.
I have enjoyed this series for its nice story and ease of reading. While I enjoy much more fast paced books, this is perfect for the beach chair or any time you want to relax and enjoy.

Fun listen
I love the characters are easy to follow the personalities! I like how do you come on the writer? Leave me any final route all life nothing with the ladies in the book. There are many life lessons this time follow here and be easier on one another. Plenty of of don’t judge a book by its cover. This book text me there with these people. Each time i turned it off i couldn’t wait to get back! Nice job! Thank you!

The narrator
Erica Sullivan is the worst over actor I’ve ever listened to, she draws out and or accentuates every other word practically, it’s so annoying to listen to, and totally unnecessary. I love Maggie Miller‘s books and the stories she writes, but I probably will not buy another one if it’s narrated by Erica Sullivan.
