Publisher's summary

Ever since the USS Walker came from another world war to defy the terrifying Grik and diabolical Dominion, Matt Reddy and his crew have given their all to protect the oppressed Lemurians. But with the Walker in desperate need of repairs just as the Grik's first general is poised to strike, Reddy is desperate.

With more enemies than ever before arrayed against them, the crew of the Walker needs new allies. That means combing the lethal wilds of Madagascar to find the Lemurians' fabled ancestors as well as the enigmatic dwellers east of the Pass of Fire. But what Reddy's crew unearths may be more than they can handle - discoveries so shattering that they could tilt the balance of the war in either direction.

But Reddy's greatest adversary is from his past: a madman named Kurokawa whose single-minded mission of revenge will shake the Alliance to its core and raise the stakes to the most personal and terrifying levels Reddy has ever faced.

More of the Same (in a good way)

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I would like the story to get wrapped up. On the other hand, I love the books and want them to go on. I guess they are going on ad infinitum. The intro of this book seems to be a continuation of an intro from several books ago. I believe that the introduction is from Courtney Bradford and it implies that at least he made it back. I could be misinterpreting that, but those intros are curious things to be sure. The story line doesn't progress much, but new characters and situations are introduced. The author's writing is very good as always and the narrator nails it. I will keep reading as long as the books keep coming out.

Another Great Story with Even More EnemIes

It's become par for the course to have a great time with these books. However, this one really gets crackling along with new enemies, new challenges, new allies, and all sorts of twists that drive you crazy for closure. Brilliant work with excellent execution.

Edge of your seat stuff

Where does Blood in the Water rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Near the top, the war on multiple fronts, new discoveries, Intrigue, and good old Dennis Silver does his stuff.

What did you like best about this story?

I would have to say the overall story is good, but, the discovery of new allies, Cannibals, and enemies makes it more exciting.

Which character – as performed by William Dufris – was your favorite?

It has to be Dennis Silver.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not extreme, but laugh yes and sadness yes, and I couldnt stop listenening.

Any additional comments?

William Dufris brings Taylor Andersons world of the Destroyermen to life. His characterisations of each person is absolutely excellent. The world of the Destroyermen is growing, Captain Matthew Reddy is fighting a war on multiple fronts, his people are being attacked and stretched to their limit, and, his wife has been...........well, you will need to download "Blood in the Water" to find out what happened, but rest assured, it is edge of your seat stuff.
I am sure that you will enjoy this the latest book in the series, Well done Taylor Anderson and Audible, another success.

Why 4 of 5

I love the series but please let this be the last time the "damsel in distress " story line is used. This is the reason why 4 stars instead of 5. With the series over arching storyline there are a lot of better possible complications the relying on this trite one.

Getting old

What made the experience of listening to Blood in the Water the most enjoyable?

This series is well written and enjoyable. However, the rate of change, and incredible proliferation of different people is really straining incredulity. From sailing ships to modern steel destroyers in 3 years! The initial advances in technology was fun and believable. But the tools to make the tools to make the tools, all in three years? Hard to keep swallowing the expanations.

Another solid book in the Series

This was another solid book in the ongoing saga of the other - world struggle of our shrinking group of old Four- stacker destroyermen.

A bit like real war

Any additional comments?

Action followed by long periods of inactivity. This book must be a prologue to the next book. Lots of setup and lacking on the action found in the earlier books. Even so, it's still a fun read for those of us following the series.

Long In the Tooth

Where does Blood in the Water rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Of the 112 books I have listened to it sits at # 14, but the breadth of my reading is such that it is not valid to compare vz. Capital, 14, Churchill and It Starts With Food are four examples.

Would you be willing to try another book from Taylor Anderson? Why or why not?

This story is getting long in the tooth so I might try only one more of this series.

Which scene was your favorite?

Silva on the Grick Dirigible near the end of this book.

The narrator does an excellent job with all the voices and emotions - should get an award for this series !!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

Anderson needs to wrap this up while we are all still with Capt. Reddy.
