Publisher's summary

The last person 25-year-old junkie Steven expected to meet was Anna Marie, an alluring stranger who turns out to be a fellow junkie...and a vampire. Anna Marie senses an inner steel deep inside Steven, and offers him a membership in the seductive world of The Morphia Clan, a group of vampires as devoted to using narcotics as much as they are to drinking blood. Steven soon falls in love with Anna Marie, whose vampire throne is threatened from outside forces and from within. There are hidden dangers everywhere, and treachery and betrayal lie just around every corner. Soon Steven finds himself not only in a fight to save his own life but also the life of the vampire he loves.

I can not believe i got lucky enough to receive this from the author in exchange for my honest feedback because it's worth any credit or the cost of any going rate audiobook. It was full of fun, exciting, intoxicating and attention grasping details throughout this story with my absolute favorite vampires💕💕💕💕💕
I highly recommend this to anyone considering this book or is a vampire lover or can empathize with substance abuse.

Blood Sucking Dope Fiends

Well this is all about junkie vampires. Need I say more? While the story is solid and the characters are all interesting, this is a typical B movie horror show. You get exactly what you would expect from this type of story and it is glorious. I found myself constantly wanting to go back to my earbuds to hear how everything played out.

I thought that the plot was different from your typical vampire story. Instead of worrying about their blood supply, they worry about their dope supply. Made for a different type of vampire story. I liked all the nuances of them being junkies, such as them going after hookers since their blood has dope in it already. Even though Steven was a junkie and a terrible person, I really liked him as he matured into a vampire. Becoming a vampire made him a slightly better person and while he was still a junkie, I felt he tried to reconcile his past a bit and grow from where he started off.

Rick Gregory is one of my favorite narrators. I love his gritty tone and character voices. This is one of his earlier narrations and I could tell he hadn’t quite found his voice yet, but he still did a great job. Rick tends to narrate a specific type of book, if you are familiar with his work you know you are getting a graphic horror story with an excellent narrator.

Junkie vampires, oh my!

Well, I must say this tale is unique. It has a campy feel to it, and it was entertaining; sort of a vampire love story with benefits. I wasn’t expecting the erotica, but it did add some zest. The story could have definitely been improved with a different narrator. Rick Gregory has a nice voice but it’s monotone. Female voices would have certainly added to the immersion factor. Three.point.five. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Blood and Needles

Unique take on vampires. Drug addicted vamps belonging to the clan called The Morphia Clan. There was definitely something missing to add excitement to the story.

The narrator did a decent job. I liked his voice but not the way he read. Another reviewer mentioned this is one of Rick Gregory's earlier narrations. I really look forward to listening to him with experience under his belt.

This was a very interesting take on vampires. I don't how how I feel about the whole "vampire junkie" idea but it was well-written and performed very well by the narrator.

Overall, this story wasn't really what I usually listen to or read. It was good but not great but that is just because I was personally not into this story.
