Acerca de esta escucha

After months of following one-size-fits-all advice for a 57-year-old widow, Linda Crill is still miserable, until she makes a rebellious spur-of-the-moment decision: she trades her corporate suits for motorcycle leathers and commits herself to a 2,500-mile road trip down America’s Pacific Northwest coast on a Harley. The problem: she doesn’t know how to ride and has only 30 days to learn.

Four short weeks later, Linda joins two men and a woman for a white-knuckled, exhilarating road trip along the west coast from Vancouver, Canada, to the wine country of Mendocino, California. Along the way she encounters washed-out mountain roads, small-town hospitality, humming redwoods, and acceptance from gentle souls who happen to have tattoos and piercings.

By heading into the unknown - the blind curve - she faces her fears, tests old beliefs, and discovers not only a broader horizon of possibilities to use in building the next phase of her life, but also the fuel to make it happen.

Funny, irreverent, and extraordinarily honest, it’s the perfect listen for people looking for ways to reinvent themselves, and anyone asking: "What now?"

This was a decent listen in the car, but there were a couple of things that annoyed me, as a woman who also rides. First of all, we want to know what bike she ended up riding on her trip. Did she not go into that detail because of brand or copyright issues? And here's a news flash: some of us ride sport bikes, not Harleys. There's a lot of Harley in this book.
I also found her frequent digressions into self-help and awareness - the corporate stuff - detracted from the story of her challenges in acquiring a new skill.

I too remember how scary it was to get on and ride the first time, and I could definitely identify with dropping the bike!
This book left me wondering whether she is still riding and on WHAT.

Entertaining but a few anoyances

Any additional comments?

This is a great book about overcoming your internal fears, obstacles, hang-ups and finding out who you are and what you are made of. Linda Crill did the unthinkable to most and took on a very brave task. To learn how to ride a motorcycle and then take off on a trip of thousands of miles as a novice is impressive. Doing all this while rediscovering herself and coming to peace with her life. Inspirational to say the least even for a veteran rider.

Get in touch with the feminine biker in you.

There is value in the thrift of words. There might be a short story here.

Meh, lots of adjectives.

had it moments but was repetitive and just annoying at times. the narrator got irritating with time. it was one blind curve that got predictable.

not a motorcycle story
