Incredible collection of vital history books

Some of the greatest figures in American history and my personal heroes include Frederick Douglass and W.E.B. Du Bois. They are among the most eloquent American writers I've ever read, and their stories are among the most representative of the American dream as envisioned by the Founding Fathers, Thomas Paine, and even going back to the roots of egalitarianism and human equality as envisioned by John Locke. I had not read Booker T. Washington in detail prior to this book, and I'm very grateful to the introduction to his remarkable legacy.

These books are beautifully narrated and clearly enunciated, making it easy to follow and a pleasure to listen to them. I strongly recommend this collection for anyone interested in American history, American values, and American heroes.

A dozen stars are too few...
Every American child should be required to read these three books.

Truly enjoyed the books and plan on listening to them again to further my knowledge of my history and what this world thinks of me and my people.

Suggest to All to Whom Black History was Half Told

Well performed. Raw uncut history. Loved it. I suggest for all to whom (like myself) the condition if Black Folk during reconstruction was less than half taught in school. I also suggest Slavery by Another Name by Douglass Blackmon

Leaves out pages of the written Frederick Douglass’ biography

I don’t understand at all! This recording leaves out pages of the diary that I also bought. Be very careful. If you didn’t know this, it would just slip by. For example see Part 2 in both
