About this listen

Bethan listened as her father explained to her mother the mission that he was giving to her brother, Lynn, and her Uncle Bryn. After she’s heard all of the details, she left the big house and returned to her small house where she began to pack.

She was frustrated at being unable to apply the skills that she’d been learning from her father since she was just a young girl, knowing that if she’d been born male, she would have been sworn in as a deputy marshal within a year. All that everyone seemed to expect her to do with her life was to marry and have children, and she was determined to prove that she could match any of the deputy marshals that worked for her father. Her uncles and brother wouldn’t leave until tomorrow, and by the time they arrived in Canon City, she’d be waiting for them and follow them to the counterfeiters’ location.

Bethan may have been expecting just to watch the takedown of a small counterfeiting operation, but within a day, her entire future would make a dramatic and deadly shift that would take her across Colorado where she would face dangers she could never have anticipated.

Bethan's Choice

This is the fifth book in this series. This book focuses on Bethan. This book is every bit as good as the first four actually even better. This is the best series I've listened to. I've hung on to every word even backing up and relisting to parts to not miss anything. Bethan wants to be a U.S. Marshall like her father. She proves herself and Dylan makes her a temporary U.S. Marshall. They go on one of the most interesting chases I've seen. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say that that all the Evans is good but Bethan has become my favorite. There is a lot of action and there is a great story line to Bethans journey while she is figuring out what she wants to do with her life. There is a family connection that makes this series even better. Jim Meskimen does a great job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

Great

This is book five in the Evan’s Family Saga. I am almost to the end of the series and feeling sad that it will be ending. I read in one of the reviews that C. J. Petit has died. He didn’t start writing until near the end of his life. He said he started writing while going through cancer treatment to take his mind off his discomfort. He said he had no intention of publishing his stories. But one of his children set it all up on Amazon. To his surprise people bought his book and then he took off as a big seller. In “Bethan’s Choice” Petit writes about the oldest Evan’s daughter as she turns 17. It is a great story. You will not be disappointed with a Petit story.

I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. The book is twelve hours and twenty-two minutes. Jim Meskimen does a good job narrating the story.

Really Sappy

The story was okay but predictable. My husband and I are struggling with moving onto the next book but I've already downloaded it. I hope it's better.

Not my favorite

it seems the writer didn't know what to do with a Evans girl he makes her so strong and independent she comes off over bearing and some what smothering you know who wears the pants in that relationship she didn't give poor weak Lee a chance I didn't enjoyed the this story like the others the narrator did a good job

Long Winded and tedious

The main thing I didn’t care for was the repetitive and detailed mentioning of Bethan’s arsenal. As well as how great a shot the heroine was. Not a very believable western.
