Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Intriguing Time Travel
A fiction writer time travels through time via an unexpected dark hole. The storyline is enriched as it shares the experiences and reasons of those seeking to bring him home, his wife’s sense of loss, and his sense of living in a magical and fascinating time and space with those he admires most.
The author, Bob Gunner, cleverly and neatly captures the essence of an engaging time and venue along with key characters. While one would assume time travel novels are a dime a dozen, one needs to experience this book! It is different and explores relationships, and most importantly, one’s beliefs and values. I thought how he ended the story was engaging and fresh. Gunner masterfully steered clear of losing the storyline to the rich and well-known characters of that era and profession. Gunner kept his audience focused.
The narrator, Brooks Corley once again provides a vibrant voice to the story projecting the emotions and depth of each character vividly. Corley is highly talented at captivating his audience through skilled voice modulation and deliberate presentation. Corley is highly versatile in giving voice to various characters and genres.
This was a fresh take on a time travel story that kept the audience thinking long afterward.

it was good
I did not really think I like it from the beginning but after past chapter 12, chapter 13 onward got interested.
I had high hope for Thomas coming back. Chapter 27 I had to listen to it again. it was very interesting to me.
The ending for me was a hate and love at the same time. I don't want to spoil it for the readers but I wasn't expecting how it ended.

Great listen
"Before I Die: Or Trapped in 1937 Hollywood" totally took me by surprise! It's about this guy, Thomas, who gets thrown back to 1937 Hollywood. It's got all these cool old-timey celebs and a bit of a spooky government vibe trying to get him back. I'm pretty new to time-travel stories, but this one was super easy to get into and really fun. Definitely a great pick if you're looking to try something a bit different!

Great audiobook
Just finished listening to this audiobook about Thomas Trueman's unexpected journey to 1937 Hollywood, and I must say, it was a thrilling ride! The time-travel aspect was fascinating, and the way the author weaves Thomas's experiences with real-life Hollywood celebrities from that era was brilliantly done.
The narration truly brought the story to life. It had the perfect tone for a tale filled with suspense, twists, and turns. The voice acting made the characters, especially Thomas, incredibly relatable and vivid. It felt like stepping back in time and living through those golden days of Hollywood alongside him.
What I loved most were the unexpected plot twists that kept me guessing. It's not just a simple time-travel story; there's a complexity to it, with the covert government team and the paranormal investigator that adds depth. It's the kind of story that's perfect for a commute or a long drive, as it completely absorbs your attention.
The blend of historical fiction with a touch of science fiction and mystery makes this an entertaining listen. If you're a fan of old Hollywood or just love a good, suspenseful story, this audiobook is definitely worth checking out. The ending left me wanting more, and I hope there's a sequel in the works!

Entertaining and Fun
Wow! This story is heartbreaking yet thought-provoking at the same time. It definitely is a unique thrill ride that takes place in the present as well as the distant past. Brooks Corley definitely has the voice that fits this book perfectly because he brought life into the story and made it pop. I found the storyline and plot twists to be fun, descriptive, and quite entertaining. I highly recommend this story if you love old movies. I received this book for free upon my request. I am leaving my honest, unbiased review voluntarily of my own accord.
