Earl Hebner used hard work and determination to become the most recognizable officiating name in professional wrestling, if not "the greatest of all time." Starting in Virginia as ring crew, he gained the respect of Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair, going on to referee NWA's biggest events. Then, in front of 33 million fans, Earl debuted on WWF's most-watched event ever as the evil twin ref who stole Hulk Hogan's title. For decades, wrestling was shrouded in secrecy. It had larger-than-life personalities, bone-crunching physicality and jaw-dropping theatrics, but backstage, it was an industry devoid of outsiders. Then in 1999, after working together on a special for MTV, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turned to 26-year-old television writer Brian Gewirtz and asked, “You ever consider writing for WWE?” That question, and its answer, would have a profound effect on both of their lives for years to come. There's Just One Problem is a story about perseverance, tenacity, and steel chairs.

Publisher's summary
A New York Times bestseller! This “infectious and contagious” (“Stone Cold” Steve Austin) memoir from WWE superstar Rebecca Quin—a.k.a. The Man, a.k.a. Becky Lynch—delves into her earliest wrestling days, her scrappy beginnings, and her meteoric rise to fame.
Raised in Dublin, Ireland, in a devoutly Catholic family, Rebecca Quin constantly invented new ways to make her mother worry—roughhousing with the neighborhood kids, hosting secret parties while her parents were away, enrolling in a warehouse wrestling school, nearly breaking her neck and almost kneecapping a WWE star before her own wrestling career even began—and she was always in search of a thrilling escape from the ordinary.
Rebecca’s childhood love of wrestling set her on an unlikely path. With few female wrestlers to look to for guidance, Rebecca pursued a wrestling career hoping to change the culture and move it away from the antiquated disrespect so often directed at the elite female athletes who grace the ring. Even as a teenager, she knew that she would stop at nothing to earn a space among the greatest wrestlers of our time and to pave a new path for female fighters.
Culled from decades of journal entries, this “endearing debut memoir” (Publishers Weekly) offers a candid depiction of the complex woman behind the character Rebecca Quin plays on TV.

But what separates standout sports stars from the rest? In a paradigm-shifting new theory, acclaimed sportswriter Matt Fitzgerald identifies two key traits behind athletic success: strict self-regulation over thoughts and emotions and an unquenchable psychological need to pursue victory—even when it means enduring extreme mental and physical suffering.

Story
On the playing field, natural talent isn’t enough—there’s a mental component that determines whether athletes win the race or wipe out before the finish line.

Then in 1999, after working together on a special for MTV, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turned to 26-year-old television writer Brian Gewirtz and asked, “You ever consider writing for WWE?” That question, and its answer, would have a profound effect on both of their lives for years to come. If you are a fan of “The Man” .. good read
I love it when the author reads their story .. Becky is a relatable yet utterly bad ass..

Loved it. It was a good listen. I'm a big fan if Becky Lynch and of WWE over all. I watch it every week of the year.

Fantastic journey of pro wrestling
A wonderful tale of a pro wrestler who has had the highest of highs and lows! Working hard to keep her dreams alive and moving forward.

A Special Connection
I think all women, wrestling and non-wrestling fans alike, could benefit tremendously from reading this book; it's better for the mind, body, and spirit than any self-help book in the history of that genre.
That said, I also think men capable of any shred of empathy should read it, too. Get to know the woman behind The Man. You'll be glad you did.

Yeah this ate
I’m so glad I got this audiobook, something about hearing The Man herself tell this story takes it to a whole new level. I think I’m an even bigger fan of her now.

She is a real person
I loved the story. It actually made her seem as the type of person I would feel comfortable grabbing a beer with and talking about life. She has the same doubts, loves, and problems as everyone. I love her in the ring, but because of this book, I love her as a person. Becky Lynch is no longer just a damn good wrestler, she is a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a friend, and a pretty awesome human being.
Becky Lynch is and always will be "The Man"
