About this listen

The sight of a rotting corpse hanging from a noose is enough to stop any man in his tracks—and Luke Jensen is no exception. Sure, he could just keep riding through. He's got a prisoner to deliver, after all. But when a group of men show up with another prisoner for another hanging, Luke can't turn his back—especially when the condemned man keeps swearing he's innocent. Right up to the moment he's hung by the neck till he's dead . . .

Welcome to Hannigan's Hill, Wyoming. Better known as Hangman's Hill. Luke's pretty shaken up by what he's seen and decides to stay the night, get some rest and grab some grub. The town marshal agrees to lock up Luke's prisoner while Luke heads to a local saloon and restaurant called Mac's Place. The pub's owner—a former chuckwagon cook named Dewey "Mac" McKensie—serves up a bellyfull of chow and an earful of gossip. According to Mac, the whole town is run by corrupt cattle baron Ezra Hannigan. Ezra owns practically everything. Including the town marshal. And anyone who gets in his way ends up swinging from a rope . . .

Mac might be just an excellent cook. But he's got a ferocious appetite for justice—and a fearsome new friend in Luke. Together, they could end Hannigan's reign of terror. But when Hannigan calls in his guns, it'll be their necks on the line . . . or dancing from the end of a rope.

Great story. Great characters.

I liked the story. This one was very believable. I think the story was more like what I see in historical works I’ve read about company towns. Great reader.

Getting to know Dewey McKinsey again. I listened to all the Chuck wagon books and enjoyed them.

Seeing how Luke got in a bad situation and figure out what he could do to fix it without doing it all by himself.

LUKE AND DEWEY (MAC)

Wow.- This is a new series. With Luke Jensen the main character and help from Dewey McKenzie. (Mac). I loved this book. I like all of the books about Luke that's in his series. I also love the fact that this is a little different with him having help. I also like The books on Dewey(Mac). This book held my interest till the last word. There is a good storyline. A rich rancher wanting to own everything and willing to do anything to get it. I am looking forward to the next book because I think it will be more in the line of Bounty Hunting. There is a million different adventures they can get into together. If you like Luke I think you'll like this book. Corey Snow did an excellent job narrating this book. I love his voice. I hope they make a Dramatized version of this book later. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you

Action and good narrative

Story starts good and ends better. Yes I recommend it. Easy to follow, no bad language, and easy to understand.

Indecisive hero

Decent western. Luke is ok as a hero, not amazing. Slow to figure out who his enemies are. Really, the story had potential but not developed fully.

Incredibly underwhelming

I was excited to see a new Luke Jensen story. I much prefer his saga to the smoke Jensen books. This was not like the others though. Very little action and the gun play was extremely mild compared to other Luke Jensen books. I wanted to quit this book so many times but I tried to hold out faith that it would get more interesting toward the end. It did not. The narrator has a good voice but just doesn’t fit this script or the characters he’s playing. This book was a complete let down for me. I didn’t enjoy it.
