About this listen
A 31-day devotional in a liturgical style, featuring daily scripture readings, historical prayers, catechisms, and creeds
Every Christian knows the importance of a daily quiet time with the Lord. But anyone who’s been a believer long enough has likely experienced seasons that feel more mundane or routine, leading to aimlessly skimming a couple of Bible verses or praying the same prayer over and over.
In Be Thou My Vision, Jonathan Gibson has created a 31-day liturgical guide designed to provide structure to the daily worship of individuals and families. Each daily reading includes a call to worship, adoration, confession, assurance, creed and catechism, the Gloria Patri, a prayer of illumination, Bible reading, intercessory prayer, and the Lord’s Prayer. Designed to be listened to in 15–20 minutes a day, this beautifully produced liturgy will give listeners focus and purpose to their daily quiet time while teaching them historical prayers, creeds, and catechisms that point them to Christ.

Beale, coeditor of the award-winning Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament, examines how the New Testament storyline relates to and develops the Old Testament storyline. Beale argues that every major concept of the New Testament is a development of a concept from the Old and is to be understood as a facet of the inauguration of the latter-day new creation and kingdom.

Fear is one of the strongest human emotions — and one that often baffles Christians. In the Bible the picture can seem equally confusing: Is fear a good thing or a bad thing? And what does it mean to “fear the Lord”? In this audiobook, Michael Reeves clears the clouds of confusion and shows that the fear of the Lord is not a negative thing at all, but an intensely delighted wondering at God, our creator and redeemer.

How did the world arrive at its current, disorienting state of identity politics, and how should the church respond? Historian Carl R. Trueman discusses how influences ranging from traditional institutions to technology and pornography moved modern culture toward an era of "expressive individualism." Investigating philosophies from the Romantics, Nietzsche, Marx, Wilde, Freud, and the New Left, he outlines the history of Western thought to the distinctly sexual direction of present-day identity politics and explains the modern implications of these ideas.

Voddie Baucham has a message for Christians in today’s culture—it’s time to take a stand for the truth. In The Ever-Loving Truth, this powerful preacher and teacher addresses the cost of being a twenty-first-century Christian and helps listeners apply the unchanging truth of God’s Word to contemporary life issues. The book draws parallels between committed Christians in our society and the New Testament writers, Peter and John, as followers of Christ who proclaimed and stood for truth in their non-Christian environment.

Story
A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Packer, however, Christians have become enchanted by modern skepticism and have joined the "gigantic conspiracy of misdirection" by failing to put first things first. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

Its extent reaches down to the flight of electrons, up to the movements of galaxies, and into the heart of man. Its nature is wise and just and good. And its goal is the Christ-exalting glorification of God through the gladness of a redeemed people in a new world.

Story
Modern culture is increasingly outspoken against a biblical understanding of what it means to be a woman. Even some Christians, swayed by the LGBTQ+ movement, have rejected God’s word on issues of sexuality and gender in favor of popular opinion. In light of these pressures, it’s more important than ever to help women see the truth about who God created them to be. In this powerful book, Rosaria Butterfield uses Scripture to confront 5 common lies about sexuality, faith, feminism, gender roles, and modesty often promoted in our secular culture today.

Scripture clearly testifies to the significance of the divine covenants. God has entered repeatedly into covenantal relationships with particular men. Explicit references may be found to a divine covenant established with Noah, Abraham, Israel, and David. Israel's prophets anticipated the coming of the days of the "new covenant," and Christ himself spoke of the last supper in covenantal language.

Many people are curious about the second coming of Christ—what it will be like, when it will happen, and what signs will come first. In his latest book, Come, Lord Jesus, John Piper addresses all these issues, but stresses that those who love the second coming of Christ will receive a crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:6–8). Piper examines key biblical texts around the second coming while encouraging listeners toward a Spirit-awakened affection for Jesus's return.

Institutes of the Christian Religion is John Calvin's seminal work on Protestant systematic theology. Highly influential in the Western world and still widely read by theological students today, it was published in Latin in 1536 and in his native French in 1541. The book serves as an introductory textbook on the Protestant faith for those with some previous knowledge of theology and covers a broad range of theological topics from the doctrines of church and sacraments to justification by faith alone and Christian liberty.

Story
How did the world arrive at its current, disorienting state of identity politics, and how should the church respond? Historian Carl R. Trueman discusses how influences ranging from traditional institutions to technology and pornography moved modern culture toward an era of "expressive individualism." Investigating philosophies from the Romantics, Nietzsche, Marx, Wilde, Freud, and the New Left, he outlines the history of Western thought to the distinctly sexual direction of present-day identity politics and explains the modern implications of these ideas.

Story
How do Christians grow? Few question the call of the Bible to grow in godliness, but the answer to exactly how this happens is often elusive. In this audiobook, Dane Ortlund points believers to Christ, making the case that sanctification does not happen by doing more or becoming better, but by going deeper into the wondrous gospel truths that washed over them when they were first united to him.

Story
In this book, award-winning author James K. A. Smith shows that who and what we worship fundamentally shape our hearts. And while we desire to shape culture, we are not often aware of how culture shapes us. We might not realize the ways our hearts are being taught to love rival gods instead of the One for whom we were made. Smith helps listeners recognize the formative power of culture and the transformative possibilities of Christian practices.

Uplifting
This, for me, is not a book to be read in single sittings from beginning to end. It, rather, served me well as a daily devotional, read one day at a time. It was a wonderful reminder of the content of our blessed, revealed faith. It was performed well for the type of book it is. the music was folksy and well done. I would use more of his books.

A Wonderful Help in Daily Worship
After using this book in my daily time with God for a few months now, I have been very blessed in His Presence with the very biblical liturgy. It has been a great help. Thank you so much. I did just want to mention that on Day 27 in the Audible version, the Prayer for Illumination by John Calvin was skipped. Very few similar ommissions occur elsewhere though I failed to make a note of specific locations.
Thank you again for this amazing work!

A daily devotional that really can be used daily
I’ve been using this devotional for a few months. Even though the intent is to repeat it each month, it doesn’t get old—that’s the beauty of the liturgical format. I’m also using it in conjunction with the hardcover edition, most days reading and listening at the same time. I’d also recommend the M’Cheyne Bible reading plan that is included in the hardcover edition as well as available on podcast.

My heart is full!
This book has helped immensely in focusing my daily worship and drawing my heart to Christ in a deeper way. Through the prayers and confessions, I have begun to experience a new level of “the communion of saints” as they lead me to the Father each day. I purchased both the printed book and the Audible edition and have spent the month of January enjoying them together. I’ll move out on my own with the printed book and my own Scripture readings during the months ahead. I look forward to deepening my worship as I use this blessed resource.

It’s my daily routine
I love this book and listen to it daily as part of my worship. I don’t know if it can get fixed but A reading of the Law is left out on day 8. A prayer of illumination is not on day 24. Prayer of illumination left out day 27. I have the book so it’s not a big deal to me.

Wonderful help for worshiping the LORD
This could be a great help for any Christian, especially for those who might be unable to attend public worship for various reasons. It has been beneficial for me. Thanks, Jonathan. There are three different liturgies including this one, two currently available and another which will hopefully be available soon. One can rotate them seasonally.

Really enjoyable and deep, True Good and beautiful
Recitation of the creeds, historical prayers from the Calvin's world, reflection, wonderful singing of the Gloria Patre, Westminster confession questions and answers, a segment for each monthly date. Readings from the scripture, readings from God's Law and reassurance of grace.
