About this listen
Trouble never takes a vacation in Bad Blood, the seventh installment in the epic Goddess with a Blade series by New York Times bestselling author Lauren Dane.
After spending the last two years locked in one deadly struggle after the next, Rowan Summerwaite deserves delicious meals, excellent sex and uninterrupted sleep on high-quality linens. But when two separate investigations converge in unexpected ways and a new threat to the Treaty blows into town, there’s no rest for the wicked.
And she’ll need help.
Genevieve Aubert, a seven-hundred-year-old witch from a powerful familial line, has become more than a formidable ally. To Rowan, she’s become a friend. To Darius, a Dust Devil from the Trick, where she’s now a priestess, she’s the key to unlocking his magic. The pretty flower to his motorcycles and bruised knuckles.
Soon, the dangerous reality becomes clear. It isn’t just wayward witches. It isn’t just egotistical Vampires. What’s brewing in the desert will take a witch, a Dust Devil and a human vessel to a goddess to save those they’ve sworn to protect.

This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Loved it
This story felt like reconnecting with old friends. You don’t have to read the preceding stories but I should have reread the last one to familiarize myself with some of the people and events that led us to this story, but it isn’t required.
Rowan has found another mystery to solve and as usual, she’s storing in some toes to figure it out. We’ve got missing witches and humans, obsessive behavior, recruitment, an attempted hit, the discovery of were-beings, and a blossoming relationship. How it all comes together remains to be seen.
I loved Rowan and Genevieve’s friendship and how they are two badass women running Hunter Corp and The Conclave. This story has the same sense of foreboding that the other connecting stories had..why are the Pachella’s creating such a stir and why now? What is up with Hugo, can he not read the signs and take a hint? What is he up to? Who tried to kill Rowan…this time? What is happening to the missing witches and humans? How close can Genevieve and Darius get because they make a hot couple.
I can’t wait to see how this turns out.

What I enjoyed the most is Simone Lewis' performance and the story. Felt much easier to hear what is narration versus what is dialogue. With so many supporting characters like David, Darius, Konrad, Alice, etc. that's impressive.

Still a favorite
First, I want to say, I loved it! I have been following this series since the beginning and I am so glad that we FINALLY have another entry. I have anxiously awaited more information about the Dust Devils and had my fingers crossed for a Genevieve and Darius hook up. THANK YOU for giving us characters of color with interesting back stories that are not some overdone unrealistic cliche. That alone made the book worth reading. Add in our smack talking, hard hitting, take no BS ‘little goddess’ Rowan and her very proper main squeeze Clive and you had me from the first page. And, thank you for giving this writing thing another try. I love your work and look forward to reading the next installment.

As always an awesome story. This book gave more insight into the dust Devils; loved that. I will await the next book because I know it will be a good one.

Forever a favorite
I’ve been a fan of Lauren’s for some time now and have loved this series since the beginning. This book was no different. Love the witty banter and emotional aspects of each character. Can not wait for the next installment.

It just ended without warning!!
Not even a hint it was ending. I am used to cliffhangers, but this one didn’t even hint we were close. Just cut off. It was so frustrating to have waited so long and then it just stopped so abruptly!

disappointed
I love the characters. Loves to see the maturing of most. had I known it ended so abruptly I wouldn't have wasted a gift card buying and would've waited for next one.
