"Lazarre-White masterfully portrays people of multiple races, old and young. He also delivers Cosby's reflections on family, grief, and faith with genuine introspection and without distracting from the tense plotlines...This is a gripping, timely tale—beautifully told."—AudioFile (Earphones Award winner)

The new novel from New York Times bestselling and Los Angeles Times Book Prize-winning author S. A. Cosby, "one of the most muscular, distinctive, grab-you-by-both-ears voices in American crime fiction.”—The Washington Post.

A Black sheriff. A serial killer.

A small town ready to combust.

Titus Crown is the first Black sheriff in the history of Charon County, Virginia. In recent decades, quiet Charon has had only two murders. But after years of working as an FBI agent, Titus knows better than anyone that while his hometown might seem like a land of moonshine, cornbread, and honeysuckle, secrets always fester under the surface.

Then a year to the day after Titus’s election, a school teacher is killed by a former student and the student is fatally shot by Titus’s deputies. As Titus investigates the shootings, he unearths terrible crimes and a serial killer who has been hiding in plain sight, haunting the dirt lanes and woodland clearings of Charon.

With the killer’s possible connections to a local church and the town’s harrowing history weighing on him, Titus projects confidence about closing the case while concealing a painful secret from his own past. At the same time, he also has to contend with a far-right group that wants to hold a parade in celebration of the town’s Confederate history.

Charon is Titus’s home and his heart. But where faith and violence meet, there will be a reckoning.

Powerful and unforgettable, All the Sinners Bleed confirms S. A. Cosby as “one of the most muscular, distinctive, grab-you-by-both-ears voices in American crime fiction” (The Washington Post).

Editorial Review

Southern discomfort
I finished listening to this S.A. Cosby thriller while in Houston, where it was about 92 degrees. Not born yesterday, I wasn’t running out to take in the sights. In the cool of my hotel room, I savored the last couple of hours. He sure can weave a story. His storytelling has so many layers, he makes a Napoleon, that multilayered pastry, look like a thin slice of pound cake. The main character is Titus Crown, the first Black sheriff of Charon County. I can’t imagine a more fitting name for him. You can see it in the way he speaks, walks, and looks. I’ve pointed out Cosby’s spot-on descriptive words before. Here’s another one for you, where Titus observes of Officer Pip: “The bottom three buttons on his shirt were performing a labor of Hercules as they kept his belly from spilling out.” His narrator, Adam Lazarre-White, delivers all voices impeccably. Charon County is lucky to have Titus, the crimes are ugly and brutal, and he is on the case. Big time. —Yvonne D., Audible Editor

Another great novel!

Blacktop wasteland, Razor blade Tears, and now this! S.A. Cosby’s writing is simply phenomenal. Not only that but Adam Lazzarre-Whites narration brings this story alive like no one else could. Outside of RC Bray I can barely thing of another narrator that comes close.

Cosby is one of the best crime writers out there, and turning the perspective to the other side of the law here did not disappoint, Im only upset Cosby hasn’t been putting out novels the past 15 years. Dont change a thing! Keep doing it your way!

Thumbs up!

I have read all of Cosby’s book and I like this as much as his first. Suspenseful, dark and good storyline. Much like the Law & Order show, a portion is “Ripped from the Headlines” from the author’s home state. I highly recommend this author to anyone who has not listened to his book. The narrator is great too.

Twists turns and incorrect guesses

Usually I can tell you who done it by the middle of the book. My guess was wayyyy off and so unexpected! Great writing, great narrating, I hated to have to turn the story off to work. I’ll definitely be reading (listening) to more works by Crosby! Keep ‘em coming!

Good trumps evil

Well written and the story line was kept you engaged to the very end. I have found a new writer to follow and plan to read all his other published books.

Excellent summer listen

I finished in less than 24 hours. Decent character development. Would have liked to see more but that would have made a longer story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and narrator was excellent, as always.
