A book by New York Times best-selling author Bob Mayer, writing as Robert Doherty (author of the best-selling Area 51 series). Over 1,000,000 copies sold! Amazon Hot 100 in print. Amazon Top 10 in Thriller.
What if the Shadow that destroyed Atlantis 10,000 years ago, comes back to threaten our present world?
A war beyond time. An enemy beyond space. A thriller beyond your wildest dreams. Three areas on the Earth's surface defy explanation: the Bermuda Triangle, the Devil's Sea of Japan, and a small region of Cambodia. Inside these realms, planes have disappeared, ships have vanished, and, in Cambodia, an entire civilization has been lost leaving behind Angkor Wat.
In 1945, Training Flight 19 disappears in the Bermuda Triangle.
In 1963, the USS Thresher, a nuclear submarine, is lost under unusual circumstances, part of a secret government investigation into mysterious gates. Near the end of of the Vietnam War, Green Beret Eric Dane led a team of operatives deep into Cambodia and encountered a strange fog near the legendary city of Angkor Kol Ker. His entire team disappears, attacked by strange creatures out of the fog. Only Dane survives to return.
Now a plane goes down. In the same area Dane lost his team. He's called back. To find out who is the darkness behind these gates to our planet. What does this Shadow force want? It is a threat that will take on the world's greatest military forces and defeat them. A power that will overwhelm our science and technology. A merciless enemy that will lead Dane -and the whole planet - into the final desperate battle for survival.
If you enjoyed Lost, you'll love this book and be amazed at the similarities in concept (although this book was originally published before Lost).

Would you consider the audio edition of Atlantis to be better than the print version?
Even though I have not read the print version, the narration is poor enough to be distracting. Therefore I can only imagine the print version would be better.Who would you have cast as narrator instead of J. C. Hayes?
Robert Petkoff or John GloverAny additional comments?
It was a fun, escapist story that does a good job of weaving disparate threads together. Nothing profound or life changing, just a fun adventure story that you can enjoy while washing dishes or doing yard work.Good Story, but weak narration

mayer usually summarizes what happened in previous books, so perhaps start on book 4 where the narrator is decent.
Area 51 magic is not there & baaad narration

What made the experience of listening to Atlantis the most enjoyable?
Another fine story by Bob Mayer. He has created a gripping, fast-paced, fascinating tale. Thank you! What did you like best about this story?
Realistic characters, all larger-than-life and full of surprises. What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narrator did a decent job, but his repeated mispronunciation of Bermuda kept pushing me out of the fictive dream of the story. I've never heard an English speaker pronounce the place other than as Ber-myuda. The narrator consistently called it Ber-mooda, dozens of times. His pronunciation of Laos was also strange to my ears. Overall, I enjoyed his voice and regional American accent, but those two words diminished my enjoyment of this recording. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A shadow from the most distant past.Great story with narration troubles

If you could sum up Atlantis in three words, what would they be?
Good opening premiseWhat did you like best about this story?
Linking the past to the future with the mystery of an alien presenceHow could the performance have been better?
More than one monotone voice to help distinguish characters and inject emotion/feeling into the story. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The earth faces an Armageddon all but a precious few know exist. Can we understand and survive the Atlantis gate?Any additional comments?
A fun and unique storyline that will leave you wondering how the mystery will end.A great story with a unique premise

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Not in contentWhat was one of the most memorable moments of Atlantis?
The science was realistic when referenced and meshed well in timeline and fused well with the odd phenomenon addressed. How did the narrator detract from the book?
Really terrible. Perhaps the reader should stick to lectures or the like.Did Atlantis inspire you to do anything?
Buy the series.Any additional comments?
Please review the readings before you release.Great story, horrible reading

Would you try another book from the authors and/or J. C. Hayes?
I did buy the sequel, but it was too awful to finish, so no I will not buy anymore from this team. How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I'd make it a bit less contrived sounding. How could the performance have been better?
Make it a performance instead of just a mechanical reading.Could you see Atlantis being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I could see it as a cheap Saturday night SyFy channel movie of the week populated by one of their regular schlock actors. The story makes as much logical sense as one of their low budget creations and has enough action and room for low budget special effects to pull in bored viewers.Interesting Premise, Mechanical Reading

Someone needs to review the recording. The first chapter was repeated, it skipped at times and it sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom.
Good story; bad recording
