Annabeth Albert
Everything’s bigger in Alaska, especially the HEAs. Annabeth Albert kicks off the brand-new Frozen Hearts series with Arctic Sun, an opposites-attract romance between a rugged outdoorsman and a smoking-hot former male model.
He’s built a quiet life for himself in Alaska. But it doesn’t stand a chance against the unrelenting pull of a man who’s everything he shouldn’t want.
Ex-military mountain man Griffin Barrett likes his solitude. It keeps him from falling back into old habits. Bad habits. He’s fought too hard for his sobriety to lose control now. However, his gig as a wildlife guide presents a new kind of temptation in super-hot supermodel River Vale. Nothing the Alaskan wilderness has to offer has ever called to Griffin so badly. That can only lead to trouble....
River has his own methods for coping. Chasing adventure means always moving forward. Nobody’s ever made him want to stand still - until Griffin. The rugged bush pilot is the very best kind of distraction, but the emotions he stirs up in River feel anything but casual, and he’s in no position to stay put.
With temptation lurking in close quarters, keeping even a shred of distance is a challenge neither’s willing to meet. And the closer Griffin gets to River, the easier it is to ignore every last reason he should run.
One-click with confidence. This title is part of the Carina Press Romance Promise: all the romance you’re looking for with an HEA/HFN. It’s a promise!
Publisher’s note: Arctic Sun deals with topics some listeners may find difficult, including sobriety and eating disorders.

I liked the setting, the two men who were struggling with addiction and mental anguish, and the descriptions of Alaska as River and Griffith explored and photographed the beauty of the Arctic.
The sex scenes were okay, but not that exciting. The conversation between the two men dragged on at times, but maybe it’s just me. I purchased this book on a two for one holiday deal.
I’m not giving up on Annabeth Albert however, and have half a dozen of her books in my wishlist.
Very good narration Cooper North!
Dragged a bit

So worth a credit.
And not to bury the lead, but this book has quite possibly the most sensual sexy scene I’ve ever read.
Cooper North’s narration, more gentle and understated, is perfect for these characters. Excellent.
I’ve been told there are even better things later in the series, so I’m off to download the next book.
Heart. Tenderness. Vulnerability. Heat.

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, nice flow.
Story was interesting enough that it's got me looking for the next one. I liked that the characters in this book are a little bit older, aren't perfect and know who they are.
I also enjoyed that this book was more about the story and less about the sexy times.
🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Cooper North's narration, I had no problem distinguishing the characters from each other and I thought he did a good job of bringing the story to life.

Then there’s River and Griffin. Two flawed people who are at, quite probably, in the most fragile state they’ve ever been, because they’re about to be vulnerable to each other. The blurb is about 30% of the story. It evolves into something more, something real, something deeper.
This story is quite simply about two imperfect men growing stronger together. 💙
Cooper North did a good job with his narration.
