About this listen
Return to New York Times best-selling author Nalini Singh's darkly passionate Guild Hunter world, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, is thrust centre stage into an aeons-old prophecy....
Midnight and dawn, Elena's wings are unique among angelkind...and now they're failing. The first mortal to be turned into an immortal in angelic memory, she's regressing. Becoming more and more human. Easier to hurt. Easier to kill.
Elena and Raphael must unearth the reason for the regression before it's too late and Elena falls out of the sky. Yet even as they fight a furious battle for Elena's very survival, violent forces are gathering in New York and across the world.
In China, the Archangel Favashi is showing the first signs of madness. In New York, a mysterious sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man whole. In Africa, torrential monsoon rains flood rolling deserts. And in Elena's mind whispers a haunting voice that isn't her own.
This time, survival may not be possible...not even for the consort of an archangel.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Enjoyed this audio book
Enjoyed this audio book a lot
I felt the story was fantastic
And yes it does ends on a cliffhanger but it’s the kind of cliffhanger that you don’t mind because it’s not sad.
Cannot wait for the next story.

OH.. MY.. GOD - I WAS GLUED AND GUTTED
This is the eleventh book in this riveting paranormal series and each one is like visiting old familiar friends.. yet they remain fresh with new characters, situations, revelations and twists.. and this penultimate book in the Guild Hunter series does not disappoint. There is more world-building as a dark Prophecy is drip-fed in suspenseful chapters and a very determined Elena tries valiantly not to succumb to weakness as she fits clues together to find a killer who has struck very close to home. Secrets will emerge, sinners will be revealed, feathers will fall and an Archangel and his Consort will fight a life-threatening Prophecy. Both of them are passionately determined to change what is foretold in bleak cryptic bite sized clues.. but will they succeed?
Brilliant narration as usual by Justine Eyre who delivers an awesome performance of this nail-biting rollercoaster ride into Hell.
Worth a credit? Yes BUT.. I absolutely hate cliffhangers and I hate.. hate.. hate with a passion cliffhangers that keep you waiting for months - or even years for the HEA ending.. so please please please do WHATEVER it takes Ms Singh to stop our tears and tantrums by giving your fans the final bitter-sweet story in this epic series.

Justin Eyre, as always, not my cup of tea
I know many people love Justin's narration, but I just find it kind of breathless and emotionless. Also, something many narrators do, her included, and drives me nuts: she whispers when she's supposed to scream. Other than that, she's good at conveying emotions and clearly marking different characters.
OH! Did anyone else catch the notification DING on chapter 29, 8 minutes in? LOL!
Anyway, the book's just amazing, as always. Nalini is a total pro and her books are always amazingly written. Loved it when I read the ebook, love it now with audio (despite my issues with the narrator).

Done with this series - massive cliffhanger
Now, we would have to wait God knows how many months or years for the next book. I was really looking forward to this book but I am really disappointed. I will be returning it.
