Ditzy heroine ruins a good premise

honestly, one of the reasons I decided to listen to this book was because of the narrator. I've heard her books before that she has done, including Julia Buckley's Hungarian Tea House mystery series, which I absolutely adore. And while I know authors are different, I was expecting something light and cheery. however, I found the majority of the characters to be unlikable- especially the main heroine who was too ditzy to be relatable. another reviewer also brought up her pension for buying tarot readings when she only works part-time and doesn't make a lot of money. I found the food portion of the story as well as the the food critic aspect intriguing, and I might consider reading the next book in the series but I was a little disappointed. I also would have loved it if the main characters ex-boyfriend got told off more.

Fun and light

This story was fun and light, just what I need in between the more hardcore psychological thrillers I listen to. I’ll look into reading/listening to more.

Disappointed

I was disappointed in how she continued to do stupid things. She would admit what she should do then turn around and do opposite and adding all the babbling was annoying.

Fun story, good characters!

This story was fun to read. Narrator was good and embodied the characters well. It definitely had the distinction of being a first book in series field. Lots of development to look forwards to in the next installment!

Good story

Easy read for a weekend at the beach or a snowy winter weekend but
that would only make you long for the keys

not for me

I read this book a while ago. It didn't impress me then and it doesn't impress me now.
