Tangled Web in an Amish Village

Spry and sharp witted, Ettie Smith and her sister, Elsa-May once again come face to face with a case of murder in their small Amish colony. Their friend, Mildred had lost her husband, Nehemiah not too long ago, and now her step-daughter, Camille had been killed. Camille’s brother, Jacob was the prime suspect. Between knitting, baking and visiting their neighbors, Ettie and Elsa-May put their heads together and begin to ponder who would have wanted Camille dead. Seems she’d been a handful ever since she was a child. The more that Ettie dug, the deeper the mystery got. Detective Kelly, the local law officer liked Jacob, Camille’s brother for the crime, but Ettie was having none of it. The dialogue between the Amish sisters and the Englischer is always amusing . . . This is a great series . . . with a window into the lives of the Amish, which surprisingly is not so very different than us Englischers 😊.

AMISH MURDER SHE HAD SECRETS

AMISH MURDER by Samantha Price. book 2 in the "Ettie Smith Mystery"
Having enjoyed Samantha's stories, was delighted to read and review this series. The highlight of this audio, was a great Amish murder, the bonus was the voice of Heather Henderson. To me, she added so much life to the characters. Two older sisters together, and the young girl who was murdered, never got along with her brother. She was at odds having a stepmother, and all the lying, did this cause her murder. For secrets among secrets were part of her. You could feel the humbleness of the detective asking for help. The Amish do tend to keep to themselves, but Ettie has away about her, to get people to talk. That what the detective needed.
This was a good plot, characters rich in description, and readers will enjoy this book. With it now in audio also, was a delight to listen to.
Looking forward to book 3. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
