About this listen

Always Forward is the ninth book in the best-selling Bregdan Chronicles historical series. Make sure you start listening with number one: Storm Clouds Rolling In. It's listeners like you who have turned the series into a worldwide best seller. Thank you!

Can America survive the struggle to rebuild?

Carrie and Robert’s dream comes true, but is Carrie strong enough to survive what comes next?

Rose’s school comes under attack by vigilantes. No one could have predicted what will happen next.

Abby makes the choice to go to Kansas to fight for women's suffrage and almost pays the ultimate price.

Violence and hatred run rampant through the country as America tries to come to grips with two million freed slaves.

So many of the characters you have come to know and love face both challenges and joys in this turbulent time in history.

Volume nine of the Bregdan Chronicles continues the sweeping historical saga that now encompasses the second year of American Reconstruction.

How many books will be in the Bregdan Chronicles? No one knows yet.... Ginny intends to write these character's stories, one year at a time, for as long as she is able to write. She is passionate about bringing history to life through historical fiction. Since she is amazingly healthy, that could be for a very long time! She doesn’t like stories to end any more than you do. This one won't end for a very long time!

5th grade narration

I was disappointed in this recording. In this book Michele’s vocal inflection felt like she was reading to a class of 5th graders. The natural speaking voice does not always dip on the last syllable. This recording is not natural and feels forced in several places. Love Ginny’s books, but I am disappointed in this second recording.

Shakespear's tragedies all over.

I hate the tragedies of Shakespeare. More of the same here. I almost regret having started this series.

Brigette not living

I really hoped the baby would have survived. It was bad enough she lost Robert, but losing her baby was too much.

Love the story, but I do not like the new narrator.

I have listened to all the books up to now, and I have enjoyed them. I’ve learned a lot about the underground railroad, the struggle for a United States, and the right for women and blacks to vote. I am not crazy about the new narrator. I feel like every time she says Cary‘s name she is getting onto her. Her voice is a grading, and it is very hard to enjoy it as much as I did the previous books.
