Publisher's summary

Ben Broyles is a billionaire, polar bear shifter, and hotel mogul haunted by his tragic past. He built his magical ice hotel as a sanctuary for the supernatural. When the evil goblins who murdered his clan check in, Ben knows they'll do everything they can to destroy all he's built. With the future of his hotel - and his life - on the line, Ben must stop the goblins and find justice before it's too late.

Sally is the curvy and capable manager of the Wondernasium Hotel who thinks she has everything handled. A whole conference of supernaturals with crazy dietary restrictions? Handled. Guests who try to eat the other guests? No problem.

But there's one thing Sally can't handle: her desire for her boss. When a steamy encounter in Ben's office turns her entire world upside down, Sally has a choice: will she embrace the magic within? Or will she flee from her true self?

This paranormal romance for adults includes sexy bear shifters, interfering supernatural bartenders, explosive magic training, and a workplace romance so hot it will melt even the coldest heart.

A Bear Becomes A Couch

This was a funny shifter story and would get five stars except for the narrator. She literally says three words then pauses. Sometimes it seems in the middle of some words. Although this was a quick read I had to listn in two stages because the narrator irretated me so.
Sally is a witch and does not know it. She runs an ice hotel for a billionaire whoes guest are paranormals. She explains strange events away as her own mind playing tricks on her. What happens when reality crashes in?

Wish the story was longer

Again AJ Tipton has hit this one out of the park (sorry for the cliche). The authors developed the characters in a short time. I enjoy their books because they are something I can stick in between other long books I listen to. However, I would have liked Sally and Ben to have a little more time together. I think there was so much that could have happened if the book was longer. But, again, I like the short ones. The story was cute, especially the couch. lol Who would have thought? I really don't like the way the narrator narrates the book. I have to struggle through her inflections (none) and her drawn out words. I would prefer a different narrator for the AJ Tipton books. Veronica Heart is not my favorite and I will have to think about it next time I get one to listen to that has her narrating. Sorry, I personally struggle through each time I listen to one of her books. I received this book free for an unbiased review, which as you can tell, I have given.

Short, action packed romance.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely. It's nice & short, so easy to listen to in one setting, but has excellent character development and a well-placed plot, so it doesn't feel rushed or drag on.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Alpha's Domain?

Sally's unexpected electrifying moment ties it all together & ends up helping Ben more than either could have imagined.

Have you listened to any of Veronica Heart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, and if you haven't listened to one before, it might be a good idea to listen to the sample first. Veronica's voice and speech patterns are a bit different, and I see some other reviewers felt that detract from the story. I found that it helped me appreciate the otherworldliness of the setting & feel the supernatural aspects better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely, and it's a great length to do so.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book in this series, and I loved it and plan on listening to the others. I believe characters from the previous books in the series make quick cameos, but not in ways that will spoil them if you listen out of order.

Ruinous narration

The story is entertaining, but the narration with its unnatural rhythm is really grating and prevents the listener from getting in the flow.

Polar Bear!

I really enjoyed this one. I have listened the the prior ones in the series. This was so sweet how much Ben wanted Sally with her rose colored glasses as it was. I loved how it all unfolded in this short listen. Narrator did a great job.

Polar Bear Shifter Romance

Short fantasy story with a good plot and characters. Ben is a polar bear shifter that owns a magical ice hotel. Evil goblins killed his clan and he needs proof before they are brought to justice.

Sally is Ben's hotel manager. She has a big crush on her boss. She doesn't know about supernaturals until her world comes crashing down on her.

The narrator is ok but not as good as most I have heard. The authors did a great job creating a complete story in such a short amount of time. No need for breaks. You can easily listen to it in one sitting.

Another fun installment to the series!

Another great story from that dynamic duo, A J Tipton :-) Worth a credit or a buy - wish I could transport myself to the Wondernasium Hotel right now ;-)

Now I want me a polar bear shifter like Ben Broyles!

Allah's Domain

This audiobook was given by the author, narrator or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

This quick read was actually pretty good. It was quick and steamy with a bit of a twist. It even had me giggling at times. This only drawback was the narrator. She was a bit dry and sounded like she was delivering the news, or like one of those automated voices.

Otherwise, this was a good listen, and despite the narrator I enjoyed the story very much. Perfect for a quick drive, or a few minutes alone.

Narrator

Book 2 & book 3 are narrated by the same person. Unfortunately, I got through book 2 and was a little put off by the narrator because she was over emphasizing the last word of each sentence maybe to be more dramatic but it didn't work! Sometimes is was almost robotic and just plain BAD. I thought maybe I didn't give her a chance and listening to book 3 I realized that NOPE she is awful!! Again she over emphasized her words and sounded clipped and robotic, ugh. I see that book 4 is narrated by someone else and I hope they are better in reading these great books! I really enjoyed the story of each book but it was kind of hard to get through book 2 and 3 because of the narrator.
