Publisher's summary
When a staunch atheist is introduced to the Lord Almighty in the most casual and childish way, it's not the end of the world. It's a Tuesday.
Bradley Michaels is just another man ending just another workday at just another job. He can list the usual complaints, can point his finger at the usual causes, and he can go about his routine as if one day is absolutely no different from the next.
Until God himself just shows up uninvited and shakes up Bradley's entire existence by flaunting his own.
It's not fair, but Bradley never claimed life is. And he tries to handle the new, omniscient presence in his head with calm attention and cool collectedness.
But God happens to be a bit of a kid. He likes to joke, to prod, to stir things up. And what God sets his mind to, God succeeds at.
Just as Bradley believes he's got life all figured out, God has to throw a wrench into it.
But not at all in the way that Bradley - or you - can expect.
Just when you think life is going according to plan, you find out your plan sucks. And it's time for a new one.

It should have been a simple job. All archaeology student Jane Barnaby had to do was pick up a box her professor needed and deliver it to him at his dig site, along with his new car. Yes, his office was in Oxfordshire, and his dig site was in Spain, a trip of 1,400 miles across three countries and two bodies of water. Still, it should have been simple. And it was, until Jane discovered she picked up the wrong box by mistake.

"Marley was dead to begin with...." These chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of remorse and redemption in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses the spotlight on Scrooge’s miserly business partner, Jacob T. Marley, who was allowed to return as a ghost to warn Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Why was Marley allowed to return? And why hadn’t he been given the same chance as Ebenezer Scrooge? Or had he?

What if the drink you just spilled, the train you just missed, or the lottery ticket you just found was not just a random occurrence? What if it's all part of a bigger plan? What if there's no such thing as a chance encounter? What if there are people we don't know determining our destiny? And what if they are even planning the fate of the world? Enter the Coincidence Makers - Guy, Emily, and Eric - three seemingly ordinary people who work for a secret organization devoted to creating and carrying out coincidences. What the rest of the world sees as random occurrences, are, in fact, carefully orchestrated events.

Story
Growing up in a Philadelphia suburb in the 1970s was an easy life. Well, easy as long as you didn't have dyslexia or ADD, or were a Jew. And once you added gay into the mix, life became more difficult. So Todd Glass decided to hide the gay part, no matter how comic, tragic, or comically tragic the results. Now, Todd has written an open, honest, and hilarious memoir in an effort to help everyone - young and old, gay and straight - breathe a little more freely.

Useful Belief turns the "be positive" industry upside down with a fresh and modern approach to achievement. Sometimes things in life are not positive. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. If you've had a nightmare of a year, the last thing you want to hear is "Be positive!" Instead, you need an actual strategy to dig yourself out and a truly useful guidebook to show you where to go next. This is that guidebook.

Hope
I had a hard time with this story at first but I persevered and am glad that I did. The message is overwhelmingly positive. Live your life and believe what you want and need to believe. Regardless of what others think. Inspiring.

Almighty: A Short Tale of Omnipotent Proportions
‘Almighty: A Short Tale of Omnipotent Proportions’ is a short book that talks about God in the most casual way. The humor in the author’s words and the encounters of the main character make you love God as a super being. In the story, Bradley Michaels, a non-believer, gets to meet God. His description of this man who created the earth is both comical and amusing. In between the narration are facts about God that people may have previously not known. The fact and lessons drawn in the book show you that God is understanding and loves everyone regardless of their beliefs.

Interesting interpretation
Love Justine’s way of writing, it’s so down to earth and easy to listen to. This was such an interesting perspective on what it’d be like to meet God as an average Joe, and I appreciated the humor and witty banter. No hoity-toity stuff here!
