Publisher's summary

With revealing, never-before-told stories, Fred C. Trump III, nephew of President Donald Trump, breaks his decades-long silence in this honest memoir and sheds a whole new light on the family name.

For the record…Fred Trump never asked for any of this. The divisive politics. The endless headlines. A hijacked last name. The heat-seeking uncle, rising from real estate scion to gossip column fixture to The Apprentice host to President of the United States. Fred just wanted a happy life and a satisfying career. But a fight for his son’s health and safety forced him onto a center stage that he had never wanted. And now, at a crucial point for our nation, he is stepping forward again.

In All in the Family, Fred delves into his journey to become a “different kind of Trump,” detailing his passionate battle to protect his wife and children from forces inside and outside the family. From the Trump house to the White House, Fred comes to terms with his own complex legacy and faces some demons head-on. It’s a story of power, love, money, cruelty, and the unshakable bonds of family, played out underneath a glaring media spotlight.

All in the Family is the inside story, as it’s never been told before.

Really touching and telling all in one book!!

I really liked hearing the start of the Trump family, where they came from and how it mold each Trump in different ways…some good and alot bad in my humble opinion! I believe because of Fred Trumps father and how he was shunned and looked upon by his father, the Grandfather of Fred the author, this was a huge part of why he took up drinking and ultimately passed away…when you can’t be encouraged to be yourself and excel at the abilities or activities you’d like it crushes one’s self worth and confidence! But also I believe because of Fred Trumps personality and his kind heart, along with Fred & Mary’s mother it is why Fred & Mary are kind hearted, generous spirit!!

Learned a lot about the Trump background W

Well written and well narrated by the author. Could not put down this book; will read it again. Fred C Trump the 3rd is the son of Fred C Trump the 2nd, who died young of alcoholism, age 43. The author's father could not cut the cord held tight with no give by Fred the First.
The 2nd tried, wanted to fly airplanes and did for awhile until the cord yanked him back under Fred the First's thumb, who told his first-born son: "You drive a bus in the air; big deal."
This family looked down on the wives of the sons if these women came with little money;,wed for love. But the older Trumps taught the younger ones to hate anyone who didn't have money, like the former airline hostess, Fred 2nd's pretty wife who gave birth to Fred 3rd and Mary. I read Mary Trumps first book about the Trumps -- both Mary and Fred write extremely well and did not pull any punches. Certain uncles of theirs, worse than anything you know without this book. Be prepared to cringe, to feel shock, to feel for the author, his lovely and kind wife, and how they made it on their own then sued Uncle Donald and their aunt for the money stolen from Fred 3d and his sister, Mary Trump, by this pair. When Fred the first succumbed to dementia, (does that run in the family?) the tricky two siblings convinced their delirious father to cut out the children of the father's first-born, Fred the 2nd, dead for 10 years. For bringing their suit against Uncle Donald and his sister who "stole" millions that should have gone to Fred 3rd and his sister Mary, the family told the author and his sister, he caused any trouble, even death, that they caused the bad news and hurt The Family. Brother and sister won their suit and got back a portion of the millions, but not all.
When Fred 3d and his wife welcomed their last child, William, they learned William had special needs. Uncle Donald's advice to the faithful parents: "What's the use, don't spend so much money, he'll never get better, let the kid die."

Lovely description of family with special needs child

The story moved along at a great pace. Didn’t want it to end. Wonderful account of how special our needs kids are.

Unbelievably frank look at this highly dysfunctional family

Well written and well delivered. The writer provides experiences and information that can only be seen from within the depths of the family. While I didn’t think I could be shocked by anything D Trump did or said, I stand corrected. The writer opens up about some of his worst days and provides an insight into a group in our society that the average person knows nothing about. Good book. Thank you for that.

Seems Balanced, Fills in a lot of Details

Though the narration was extremely flat throughout the entire book (especially when reading what I would consider as "side comments"), the story was interesting. It was especially eye-opening and informative regarding the all-encompassing care required and time needed for dealing with a special needs child.
Fred never came across as perfect, was up front about his deficiencies and things he wished he had handled differently in the past.
In spite of everything, it seems like, through it all, he has a tight knit family which is essential due to his circumstances.
To me, this book fills in a more details of the complicated and ongoing "Trump story," and comes across as genuine.

The Truth

With all that is out there, I pray that truth, reality and common sense can TRUMP everything and be the legacy of love that is passed on thru this book, the courage of Fred III and Lisa and the positive mark of a beautiful life who's name is William Trump.

The anger and bitterness that was born from the beginning!

I love the compassion that this man had for his family, even though they treated him so poorly!
