In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

Build your confidence
What I loved was the way the book explained complex FAA regulations and airspace classifications. It simplified the jargon and made these concepts easier to understand. It helps me feel intimidated by the intricacies of aviation.
The sections on takeoffs, landings, and emergency procedures were the best part for building my confidence in the cockpit. The book gives you the tools to handle many situations to keep you safe.

very informative
This was an interesting book to listen to. I was surprised by how detailed the instructions were. The author wrote as someone with experience. Even though I have never flown and airplane, after listening to this book, I think in an emergency situation i could safely operate the plane. the narrator did an excellent job on this project
