Publisher's summary

This book is a direct translation of Ibn Taymiyyah’s book, under the same title and without any additions. The book’s aim is to provide non-Arabic speakers with access to Taymiyyah’s thoughts and perspectives. To this day, Ibn Taymiyyah has a vast and essential influence on the Muslim world. The book begins by speaking of common ailments of the heart and how they affect us, similar to how an illness affects the body. It continues by explaining ways to cure these afflictions, breaking them down into smaller parts for easier analysis. Furthermore, it introduces the Quran and reviews the correct actions that will heal the heart. The Quran is likened to a banquet: a feast prepared by God that Ibn Taymiyyah welcomes us to share with him. The book is beautifully written and explains each idea thoroughly.

narrator

it is quite clear the person narrating this has no idea what is even being talked about. she clearly should not have been the narrator and I am seeing a trend with audible when it comes to any advanced Islamic books. IF they even have a certain book which is a common book in Islamic circles they have the worst narrator possible do it so that nobody can bare to listen to it. just going forward from here audible should have Muslim narrators do Islamic books. there is a Quran narration though I will suggest because it is narrated by a muslim speaker

Narrator was not good

his book is a diamond a gem but the narrator was not capable of punctuation of the explanations not even slightly capable of pronunciation of Arabic words or names it was confusing at times due to these issues I would recommend it to any of the 150,000 new Muslim converts in the USA that we attain anually so says PEW RESEARCH CENTER if you have it narrator replaced may Allah SWT give the Muslims afiyya and baraka ameen

Beautiful book, difficult listen

The descriptions and advice given by Ibn Taymiyyah were helpful and insightful, but the narrator was just difficult to endure. She pronounced most words (Arabic) wrong to the point where I couldn't tell what they were actually supposed to be. She also read in a somewhat disinterested voice where it sounded like she didn't actually comprehend what she was reading.
