Excellent Sequel
Like the first book, you really have to pay attention to what you're reading/listening. Many characters, more developed here in book 2, and several plot lines weave and interesting and compelling story. Still, we are left with cliff-hangers for many of the those plot lines. Looking forward to book 3!

Fantastic world building
Ageless fury are number 2 in the “Mists of Kel Doran-Shadowfall” series. I am sure we will be seeing more of. The book doesn’t end with a major cliffhanger, but there are still several story lines, that needs to be finished. It’s a complicated book, in that you are following several story lines at the same time. Because of this, I recommend that you read book 1 “the weave of fate”, before you start on this one. Because we are following several parallel story lines, we also have many protagonists and several antagonists in the book. The style is a little like “the Witcher”, because you eventually see how all of those pieces (of the story) fits together. The world building are fantastic, with lots of details that you can see the author has spend a lot of time on. I think, that’s what carries the book on. Another thing I liked, was that it at times are hard to see who are the protagonists and who are the antagonists. Using the terms light or dark, most of the people here are in the grey zone, which makes for an interesting read.
I can recommend the book to fans of The Witcher, and would set the ages for the readers at 16+. Triggers for the series are violence, rape, abuse and slavery.
The narrator for the audio version of the book, does a really good job, but I am glad I got the ebook version too. The reason for that, is that I sometimes needed to go back and re read some of the passages, in order to understand what was going on. I received the audio version of this book for free, and bought the ebook version. Since I liked the book, I am leaving a voluntary review.

I want to like it.
Much of what I have to say about this book was covered in my review of part 1. Though I’ll reiterate, as I know it’s unlikely people on sites other than my blog would be bothered to track it down.
I received this book as a review copy, listened to it for review but I was completely lost. I couldn’t follow the plot to save my life. I’ve listened to series out of order or individual books before. I’ve always known I was missing context and backstory but was still able to follow the plot relatively well. Unfortunately with this book, that wasn’t the case.
I purchased the first book, listened to it, and posted my review. I’ve finished listening to this book for the second time and I’m STILL lost. The story still does the same B.S from the first book where the author has added scenes that never seem to tie into anything. It continues plot threads from the first book, but the first book just dumps you into the world with no context or world-building.
I’ve listened to book 2 twice and book 1 once and I still feel no closer to understanding what the hell is going on in this series than I did when I first listened to book 2. Both books feel like a small part of a greater novel that has been separated from it without context.
The author does an astounding job of describing the world. Combat is intense and described well. I don’t see myself returning to this series unless a prequel or something to explain what the hell is going on is written.
The narration overall is excellent. The narrator speeds up her reading during intense combat scenes and does a great job with voices. She also says acrosst constantly, which isn’t a word and I find it insufferably annoying to listen to. It’s even more annoying than it was in the first book to me because the word across seems to pop up way more times in the story.
NOTE: This copy was provided to me free of charge as a digital review copy. The opinions stated in this review are mine and mine alone, I was not paid or requested to give this book a certain rating, suggestion, or approval.

More of the Same... So lost. For +18 readers
Parental Warning- easily an R rating Adult Read - So, I most definitely need to start with the warning on this book/series. Although, some of the worst content was in the first book, there are still several graphic triggers that get rehashed in this book regarding: rape, abuse, suicide, murder and attempted murder. Again, the main character is a girl who has a large thread in this story, she was: sold into prostitution by her father, beaten and raped on a regular basis, had attempted suicide multiple times, and survived a very graphic attempted murder. The violence and gore is very graphic and then you have all the cussing as well (including f-bombs).
I was hoping book two would enlighten me to the parts that were missing, so I could connect the dots and finally make sense of the plot. There a characters that I don't understand how their stories have anything to do with Ava and even by the end of the book what Ava even is. I will say that this author does have skills with the descriptions and world building, it's very vivid and I really wanted to like it. However, I have more unanswered questions, and between that and the level of the content this is not a series I will continue.
The narrator was ok. Did a great job with many of the character voices, but was really slow in my opinion... I turned it up to 1.35 speed which made it a more normal pace.
—I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
