About this listen

A teasing bet.

Shipwrecked and imprisoned thanks to an incorrect map, Captain Morgan Davies has returned to London to exact sweet revenge on the cartographer responsible for his suffering. He's also vowed to claim the winner's prize—three kisses—in the bet he made with his long-time nemesis, the prickly, smart-mouthed Harriet Montgomery. His incarceration has clarified his feelings for her, but convincing the infuriating woman he wants to marry her is going to be his greatest challenge yet. When Harriet's revealed to be the very mapmaker he seeks, Morgan decides to combine revenge and seduction into one delightful package...

A dangerous enemy.

Harriet's always wanted witty scoundrel Morgan, and now he's back; as handsome and as taunting as ever. She has enough on her plate dealing with her father's failing eyesight and a rival mapmaker copying her work to play wicked games with a dastardly Davies—however tempting he might be. But when a threat from Morgan's past puts them both in danger, Harry discovers that she and Morgan might not be enemies at all...

Fantastic!

Wow! This book was absolutely fantastic. I have fallen deeply in love with this series by Kate Bateman and I think with each installment I have been able to watch her writing grow and strengthen beautifully. With each new novel I find a new favorite. A Wicked Game is the third installment in the Ruthless Rivals series that finds two rival families finding multiple happily ever afters with each other. Kate Bateman has definitely put her heart and soul into each of these novels. Bateman's care of her characters is apparent of every page, she is able to develop the perfect amount of yearning and sensuality to build the chemistry perfectly. This novel from page one swiftly drew me into the story, I fell in love with both characters and I could not wait for them to find their ultimate happily ever after. Kate Bateman is not to be missed! This series is a great place to start if you have never explored her works, I can not recommend her enough!

I "bet" you'll love it!

This was a fun easy quick reading friends to lovers story. Great witty banter between characters. The best part was the bet and the game of kisses. Great historical mapmaking details and bonus points for even a cataract surgery reference. This was book was a lot of fun reading!

Loved It

This is actually Bradley’s wife…lol. I loved this book so much. Definitely my favorite of the 3. Morgan…there are no words. I loved how he loved Harriet from the beginning. Perfect amount I steam too. I loved their banter with one another. Such a great couple. There were some laugh out loud moments as well. It was a perfect mix. What a great read. I didn’t want it to end. I cannot wait for book 4.

Loved the first, liked the second, undecided about this one.

If anyone has read the first book, they will likely have spotted a pretty significant plot hole in book 3.

Also, I feel every character needs to be seen by a cardiologist stat! Hearts skipping beats, thumping, fluttering all over the place, etc. Perhaps they should lay off the tea!

Excellent listen - great story

After reading the previous books in this series, I was pleased to find this one. Like the others it's full of romance, a bit of mystery, rivalry, delightful repartee and LOTS of sex. Kate Bateman is a talented author who knows how to pull her story together with exciting characters. Beverly Crick is the perfect narrator for Ms Bateman's books.

Too much of a tease

There are too many "shivers" running up and down and not enough of story to satisfy...
