Publisher's summary

Haunted by her past, Olivia Adler flees Boston for a beach in Florida, leaving everyone behind. Remaining a relative recluse in her self-imposed prison, she tries to turn everything off, wanting to feel nothing. But a new acquaintance won't let that happen. After being away from Alexander for a month, his voice constantly ringing in her head, reminding her that her inability to confront her demons will not only destroy her but also him, can she really be expected to want to feel again when it brings nothing but pain? Back in Boston, everywhere he turns, Alexander Burnham is reminded of Olivia. He tries to dull the ache left in his heart the only way he knows how - in the bed of a beautiful woman. But Alexander isn't about to lose the woman he loves. After a clue comes to light regarding Olivia's whereabouts, can he convince her to return to Boston with him? When a force that has lain dormant for months resurfaces, can Alexander still protect her from the unknown danger? And when Alexander comes face-to-face with a shadow of both his and Olivia's past, will he be able to tell her the secret that is threatening to tear them apart?

FRUSTRATED

What made the experience of listening to A Tragic Wreck the most enjoyable?

I never write reviews because I either love it or I hate it. HOWEVER, this series is the biggest mix of frustration and my love for these characters. This story is inching along with Olivia feeling all alone and Alex just letting her feel that way, because he knows who she really is, that she has family still alive, and that they grew up together!!!! UUUGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SSSOOOOOOO frustrated right now. Not sure if I can listen to the last book. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Any additional comments?

. . . . . . . .at least not yet.

A HEART-WRENCHING TALE OF TRUE LOVE & DESTINY

If like me, it's been a while and many books since you listened to book 1 in this series, then it may help if you go back and relisten to the last few chapters of that book before starting this one to familiarise yourself with Olivia and Alexander's tragic story. But if you can easily remember their raw sizzling chemistry and hot passion that's been built on secrets, lies, deception and lust then brace yourself and get listening.

This is so full of self imposed heartache brought on by both Olivia and Alex that I just wanted to scream at both of them to grow up, hug each other, tell all and get a grip as Olivia has changed from a strong woman into a snivelling wreck. Tensions and feelings were high (including mine) as all the drama and angst played out between these two childhood best friends which led to some hot sex but not always with each other as their breakup hit them both hard. The fallout was both heartbreaking and devastating but thank God for second chances.... or that's what I thought.

There was a shocking surprise when someone came back from the dead, more daunting revelations were revealed when Alex eventually opened his Father's letter to him, Olivia suffered more nightmares that was slowly opening Pandora's Box to her past memories and all the while, in the background, lurked their enemy making terrible plans that'll shatter their now hard won blissful world.

Worth the credit? I must admit that this was a very frustrating listen as both of their emotions were all over the place which made them both do stupid, crazy and annoying things..... but I became hooked on their romance from book 1 so I need to know just how it's going to finally play out. So, as hard as it was to listen to all the heartache, anguish and pain that they both viciously dealt each other, I'm a romantic and need closure to their love story and YES it's a tortured, romantic, sexy, addictive and creditworthy listen. Not a stand-alone, told from various POV's, a cliffhanger ending and the Narrator did an excellent job. My only hope now, for my sanity's sake, is that the finale to this awesome trilogy will be with Audible real soon.

Emotionally charged and powerful storyline

This is one of those audiobooks you could listen to over and over again. T.K. Leigh delivers an incredible story about Olivia and Alexander that you just cannot help but be sucked into right from the start, and Anadelle Waters not only brings them to life but gives them new meaning as she delivers a superb performance.

A Tragic Wreck is the second book in the Beautiful Mess series, which is the continuation of Olivia and Alexander's story. This story is filled with angst, drama, intrigue, and so much suspense that you'll be wondering if you're the guilty party before everything is said and done. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. The characters are amazing and the chemistry is off the charts. If you've not listened to it you most certainly should add it to your list.

This book was SOO long

It could've been cut in half. She kept writing the same thing over and over. It took all I had to keep listening to the darn thing. I almost don't want to read the last one.

Terrible!

I felt as if I had to read this book as I read the first and am invested in the characters but I could not enjoy this book! The back and forth between Olivia and Alexander was awful! She would leave him then want him back and then he wouldn't take her back and then decided he couldn't live with out her. This whole book was pretty much a waste of my time.

skippable

I skipped most of this book as the beginning was boring and not much changed from the beginning of book 1 to book 2

Disappointed

SPOILERS!!!*****
Narration was great. The story was awful. It went on and on and on and was very repetitive. One of them was always pushing the other way, was always in terrible pain and for the love of God somebody was always crying. I love when a male character can be vulnerable and cry but even Alexander cried too much. The story really hasn't moved along. Alexander still hasn't told her the truth. and now we know exactly how the next book is going to go. Adele's going to tell her the truth she's going to leave Alex again, how many times will that be? Simon's going to come in get all close to her and she's still going to be in danger. It''s hard for me not to finish a series once I start it but right now I just don't think I can listen to it any longer.
