AMAZING!!

For teenagers navigating the complicated nature of relationships after leaving unhealthy ones, this book is particularly noteworthy. It has a solid grasp of what defines appropriate and unhealthy behavior, which is important during the formative adolescent years. There is a lot of guidance on recovering and growing stronger, even though the majority of the book focuses on identifying and leaving these kinds of situations. It's a great tool for a teen's perseverance and personal development.

Heartfelt and sensitive

This was really great to listen with my little brother. He’s 14 and has been struggling with relationships with girls. Some have been a bit nasty to him. We took the time to listen together while completing a painting project. It brought up a lot of good conversation. The content in general was very supportive and talked about red flags and green flags. I felt this was helpful and didn’t make the book feel too scary of negative. Some topics are triggering so I encourage you to listen to the whole thing with your teen!

Very In Depth and Organized

The audio book is clear and well organized. A lot of information. Although it is aimed at teenagers, I feel this book can be applied for really the ages of 20-35. I don’t think teenagers should worry about red flags, toxicity and dating, but that’s just my personal opinion. Good information though.

Excellent!

As a former high school teacher I can honestly say this book is LONG overdue. So many of my students who got out of toxic relationships didn't have the skills and tools to recover from narcissistic relationships. This book provides great insight and clear steps to help those teens recover and come out stronger on the other side. I highly recommend this book!

Essential and Useful

There are plenty of books out there for adults about escaping toxic relationships, and it is about time that someone has written such a book for teens. This thorough and impactful book covers a wide gamut of topics, including toxicity, abuse (emotional, physical, and sexual), mind games, gaslighting, aggression, controlling behaviors, and more. The author also provides real-world stories from actual teens, which help exemplify the concepts and remind the reader that he or she is not alone. While much of the book is about recognizing and escaping these types of relationships (too many people accept that relationships are supposed to be this way), there is plenty of advice about healing and becoming stronger. Also, the author devotes considerable attention to showing what healthy relationships look like. Finally, the book's written and narrated tone is entirely appropriate for the teenage audience.
