Publisher's summary

The number one best-selling series, with over 400 five star reviews on Amazon!

A Realm of Shadows is book five in Morgan Rice's best-selling epic fantasy series Kings and Sorcerers (which begins with Rise of the Dragons)!

In A Realm of Shadows, Kyra finds herself in the midst of a burning capital, attacked by a host of dragons, clinging for life. With her beloved homeland destroyed, The Flames down and the trolls pouring in, Kyra must urgently quest to Marda to retrieve the magic weapon before it is too late - even if it takes her into the very heart of darkness.

Duncan finds himself trapped with the others in the burning capital, and he uses all his wits to find his men, attempt escape, and rally his forces to regroup and attack Pandesia. Across the kingdom, Merk sails with King Tarnis' daughter through the Bay of Death as they abandon the Tower of Kos and sail for the warrior isle of Knossos. Pursued by Vesuvius and his army of trolls, crossing the world's most treacherous waters, they know they have little chance to reach the isle, and even less chance of escape.

Dierdre and Marco survive the tidal wave that destroyed Ur only to find their beloved city under water. With everyone they knew and loved lost and dead, they must pick up the pieces and journey to the one person they know who is left alive: Kyra. Alec, meanwhile, sails back for Escalon with the people of The Lost Isles, holding the precious sword that might just change everything. But none expect to encounter a land destroyed, a land that is now teeming with dragons.

With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, A Realm of Shadows is a sweeping saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, destiny, monsters, and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, ambition, and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.

a little lost

The story line for Kyle doesn't match book 4 chapter 22. I keep listening to it trying to make it make sense. I thought he was captured. The leader of the trolls retreated because the other army was too big not because of dragons. So how did Kyle get out of magic net? please help lol

So much action in this book

Worth reading this book. Death, trust, love, betrayal, dragons, spider, honor. This book has it all.

Somebody please buy this author at thesaurus

This was a really fun series. Full of fun, exciting adventure, and some great twists and turns. Unfortunately, however, the author seems stymied when it comes to varying word choice. I am beyond tired of hearing that they were “stunned” or “amazed”, or “couldn’t believe their eyes”. Those, and one or 2 more, were seriously over used phrases. By the time I got to book 3 I was already beginning to tire of them, but by the time I got to book 6 I was starting to roll my eyes every time they “couldn’t believe their eyes”, or they were “stunned”or “amazed” at what they saw. Fun ideas, mediocre execution.

steaming pile of inconsistent shit

this book is excruciatingly inconsistent . I wonder if the author even read this garbage ,or ever read a thesaurus . the lack of adjectives throughout the whole series nothing but crunching ,slamming ,knowing death was imminent, suddenly saved over and over and over and over and over agian . the biggest inconsistency was the kyle character in the last book he was netted and kidnapped this book acts like that never happened and the trolls don't get me started on that lame ass storyline vesuvius dues in 1 book then is back and in multiple places at once . I NEED A REFUND for my time wasted on this horseshit and the money

Worth It?

The story, the narrator were fine . What I can't abide is the cost of this story and the amount of time. Cost goes up, time frame decreases. This is about the author and Audible. Splitting up a series, to me, is a cheap move.

Inconsistencies and repetition

Not even an hour into this book and yet so many story and timeline inconsistencies.. Like the writer is not even trying to read through what he already wrote just a few chapters ago. It's really getting on my nerves.

Repeating sentences over and over and over again.
