I'll need to read more Dorothy Gilman books

Sweet, old fashioned story. Excellent character development. I listened to this when I couldn't sleep, but stayed awake to listen.

Cute

This was a fun, fast paced story. It’s like Sister Boniface meets the 1970s. Very cute.

Good listen

Where does A Nun in the Closet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I haven't listened to many yet, but narration was good and well paced and I enjoyed the book

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot moved along well and I was very curious to find out their mysterious

Which character – as performed by Roslyn Alexander – was your favorite?

I think she did a great job conveying each character

Any additional comments?

I love Dorothy Gilman books and thoroughly enjoyed this one. The ending seemed to lose a little pace, and I'm not sure why I felt that way. Era it was written or maybe something else I can't put my finger on but didn't take away from the story and left me wishing for a sequel with the Sisters and their friends!

Nostalgic Nun Story

Any additional comments?

If you lived through the 60s and 70s and fondly remember the TV show The Flying Nun, and enjoyed watching The Trouble with Angels movies, there's a good chance you will like this book as well. The 60s and 70s was when social consciousness among the Catholic Clergy was reaching its peak. The nuns in this book where a bit behind the times due to being cloistered, so have some catching up to do, but they work through their innocence with the help of some friendly (and more worldly) neighbors and "stare down the face of evil" when it presents itself.

Nunns are very wise and crafty

Overall I enjoyed the book. The reading performance was excellent - several different characters, she gave each one a very distinct voice. I rated the book 4 stars because of the end of the book. The story just fizzled rather than leaving me in suspense for a second book or to close it out so you felt fulfilled by the characters.

Very enjoyable!

This book made me feel happy. It was engaging, funny, touching without being saccharin, philosophical without moralizing, and a fun romp of a plot.

Highly recommended!
