Publisher's summary

As Christmas approaches, widowed Reverend Caleb Brennan needs a wife, or his vengeful father-in-law will take his young daughters. When his mail-order bride jilts him, Caleb grows desperate. During a storm, he finds an unconscious boy outside his home with signs of foul play. Despite his previous misfortune, obligation compels Caleb to lug the stranger inside. But as he provides first aid, he discovers more than he expected.

Bounty hunter Grace Blackwell refuses to owe a debt to any man, especially one as charming as Reverend Brennan. To repay him for saving her life, Grace agrees to pose as his mail-order bride. If their ploy is discovered, Caleb could lose his daughters. But in their pretense, the reverend and the bounty hunter might just both lose their hearts.

Finding Unexpected love

This was a delightful story about a female bounty hunter that has no time for preachers. I enjoyed reading how Caleb and Grace met in the story and the circumstances that led to their pretend betrothal. Both characters had some things in their pasts to work through. The narrator did an excellent job of keeping the characters separate. I recommend this book to those that like short sweet romance.

Very cute

This is a cute, cozy, Christian romance. I am a pastors wife so I love love stories like this! To see someone come to Christ makes my heart jump for joy. Now I know it's a book but this one really hit home!

Bounty Hunter and Preacher

Widower Reverend Caleb Brennan needs a wife fast in order to stop his father-in-law from taking his two young daughters. When the mail order bride he has found jilts him, he is desperate to find anyone who can pretend to be his wife. When he discovers a seriously injured young man in a snow drift outside his house, he takes him in to try to treat his wounds. He soon finds more than he bargained for!

This was a sweet romance with great characters and the story was full of redemption and faith. The addition of the young girls made it even more endearing. And, you can't forget the heroic dog, Jewel, who saves Caleb from robbers! A good short read, set at Christmastime, but which can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

The narrator did a pretty good job, but his mispronunciation of several common words was a little distracting. And, his female voices were not the best, but all in all he did a decent job. I was given the chance to listen to the audio version of this book by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.

The most realistic mail order bride story I have ever read!

Bluebonnets… This book was so good! I have never heard of this author or this narrator for that matter and both were excellent! I wish I could find more books written by this author and I will be on the lookout for those. Her writing is so good and it’s not like the typical boy meets girl and thinks he is the hardest thing since fresh bread and girl meets boy and thinks he’s the most handsome thing ever it builds in grows on A simple attraction and becomes more than they both expected to fine. The way she wrote it it seems to have happen naturally not like they instantly fell in love and never wanted to be a part it grew. Which makes this book the most realistic mail order bride book I have ever read. Kudos to you Lou said no you’re awesome!
