About this listen

A new medieval romance from a USA Today best-selling author!

A powerful knight on a dangerous mission...

Sir Chanse de Bremont is determined to halt the wedding that will upset the tenuous balance of power between England and Scotland. He can think of only one way to do so - take the bride captive. But the willful if beautiful lady is nothing like he thought and more than he could’ve imagined.

A defiant lady bent on escape...

Lady Arabela Graham refuses to wed the brutal man her father intends to place on the Scottish throne. She knows her betrothed is not fit to be king, and she won’t be a pawn in a political game that will surely end in disaster. Yet when a bold, handsome knight appears on the eve of her wedding offering escape, she rebuffs his aid as she is certain he has an agenda of his own.

A desire that can’t be denied...

Chanse won’t take no for an answer and whisks Arabela on a perilous journey, pursuers on their heels. She’s touched by the knight whose tender regard and kisses make her heart sing. As those chasing them close in, Chanse realizes Arabela has become far more than a mission to him - she holds his heart. Will secrets keep these two apart, or will passion draw them ever closer?

Lady Destined to be Scottish Queen Kidnapped

4.5 stars. Sir Chanse de Bremont, medieval English knight, disrupts the intended wedding of Scottish Lady Arabela Graham, the reluctant bride, whose intended is heir apparent to the throne. While story moves too slowly at times, it would've have been better with more historic political detail. #3 in 3.5 book series. The de Bremont family of this series are the next generation of the de Bremonts in the author's 5 book Vengance series. Books work well as stand alone stories.

Falling for a Knight Series:
0.5 A Knight's Christmas Wish (no audiobook)
1.0 A Knight's Quest
2.0 A Knight's Temptation
3.0 A Knight's Captive

Chanse de Bremont, the hero of this book, is the cousin of the hero of book 1 in the series and appears as a minor character in book 1, A Knight's Quest.

Rebel To A Fault

I received a free copy of this audiobook from FreeAudiobookCodes in exchange for an honest review. I liked this story set in historical Scotland. Lady Arabela Graham was to be used as a pawn to usurp the throne of Scotland. Her betrothed was a deviant and supposed ancestor of Scottish royalty. On the eve of her wedding, she plans to escape, but is met by two knights sent by the king of England. Instead of being grateful, she rebels as if her and her maid could navigate a hostile world without them. The knights are known to her adding to the frustration of what was she thinking?.

history, suspense and romance

I listened to the story in the series before this so was pleased to see this one in the series was about Arabela. She seemed like a strong female during a time when they did not have much power. Once she realizes the man her father has betrothed her to is not a leader for Scotland she and her maid run away. Chanse is there to kidnap her to prevent the wedding so it becomes easy to get away. That seems to be about the last time all goes well as both her father and her betrothed send out forces to bring her back. Chanse and Arabela are drawn to each other but do not trust each other so problems arise. just when you think they will make it safely, she is kidnapped. Their HEA take time and has many obstacles. It was interesting to learn some of the background such as the sentinels were based on truth.

A Knight's Captive

Enjoyable listen that's not overly complicated. Nicely detailed with good charterer builds. Narration was well done also.

This is my first exposure to Lana Williams but will not be my last. I love history and her story was a beautiful weaving of both history and romance.

The narrator did an amazing job bringing this story to life and I have thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait for more!
