About this listen

A dead man’s riddles—and secrets—thrust an FBI codebreaker into a deadly cross-country race for justice in a propulsive thriller by the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Cipher.

During a recent undercover sting gone bad, hit man Gustavo Toro died in the arms of FBI Special Agent Daniela “Dani” Vega. But Toro had secrets he refused to take to the grave.

In the event of his death, Toro left behind a video that promises to expose a mysterious mastermind who has been operating with impunity for decades. But there’s a catch. Dani’s team must follow Toro’s cryptic clues on a cross-country hunt for justice, and piecing together his past is more twisted than Dani could have imagined.

But as Dani and her team race to gather the evidence, it’s clear this powerful adversary will stop at nothing to keep their secrets—including eliminating those who threaten to reveal them.

Methodical Police Procedural

Justice prevailed for the latest case for Special Agent Vega. She is such a badass. I hope there’s more to come for this series.

Dani Vega is back in an action-packed case.

When I saw Isabella Maldonaldo was releasing a new Daniella Vega book I dropped any other reading projects, borrowed a copy of the book from Kindle Unlimited that included the audiobook and settled in to go on another adventure with Dani and her FBI team.

A Killer’s Code brought several threads from the first two books in this series to satisfying conclusions and opened a few new questions that will leave me wondering if I can draw any accurate conclusions before the next book in the series shows up in my kindle.

If you enjoy police procedurals with well-developed characters who have their own human failings and issues, The Daniela Vega series is worth your time. If you’ve read the first two books in the series, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy and get some of your questions from the earlier books answered.

If you choose to listen to the audiobook version of A Killer’s Code, you are in for a treat. Narration duties are once again covered by Almarie Guerra and Feodor Chin. Both narrators are top-notch and bring Dani Vega and the other characters to life.

Daniela Vega is fantastic

I borrowed the ebook in Kindle Unlimited with the audiobook. I loved listening to the action that Dani and the FBI agents get into. I can't wait for the next book. Maybe there will be more about her family in the future, too. The narration was great, too.

Lots of twists and turns. Good character development. Believable characters.

Plot was a bit of a reach, but was enjoyable nonetheless. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys the genre.
