About this listen
Leticia Langley is used to fighting for what she wants. That's how she wound up being the first in her family to graduate from college. So what if she's never had a date? All that's about to change when she gets herself a job as a food columnist for The Journal - and treats herself to a makeover that will transform her life.
With her hot weave and a dazzling new wardrobe that shows off her curves, the opposite sex suddenly takes a shine to Leticia. Except for Max Baldwin - a colleague who accuses her of trying to knock him down on her stampede up the corporate ladder. But Leticia is determined to stand her ground and get her due. And as she finds herself being offered more tantalizing prospects, including a trip to Africa, she also wins the respect - and admiration - of her handsome one-time nemesis, Max. Now she'll have to decide if she wants to let down her guard and let in the one man she could get serious about.

Great!!!!!
I really liked this book and would recommend this book. I wish this book was a movie or TV show. It had a great storyline and sexual storylines. I like how it hit on self-esteem and a successful couple. It also hit on true friendship and jeolousy. Going after your dream and taking care of family was one of the many lessons in this book. A cute couple found love in a relationship that started out as unfriendly and then friendly in the end.

Great but...
I really want to finish this book- it will have to wait until I have time to actually read it; I could not make it past Chapter 2 unable to listen anymore to the voice of narrator. Just because one can read, does not mean you should narrate "anything".

great read
This book was really good. I am new to Geynne Forster and I must say I have liked the 2 books I have read so far. She is detailed but not overly detailed. I will say Laticia got on my nerves always dou timg herself ,it became very annoying but i was still engrossed in the storyline. The author did a very good job of tying this book to the other book without it being confusing. Its a good love story. It makes you smile and laugh and feel embarrassed at times.

Extremely worthy
I haven’t written a review in a while but this book gave me great joy. It did confuse me on occasion but that was only due to my putting limits on my own understanding. I’m grateful for having listened to this story and it has inspired me. I hope all of those who choice this book in the future enjoy it just as much if not more then I did.

Good story but repetitive
This was a good, clean love story but it was somewhat repetitive. The leading lady kept going in circles which seemed to drag out the book. Overall, I would recommend it to others.

Knowing and Understanding your Worth
Overall, this book demonstrates how rewarding life can be by setting goals and expectations. And embracing change is the key to success in every aspect.
The performance could have been better if the character Max was narrated by a male such as J D Jackson.
