Publisher's summary

A bible for atheists is about how to be a good human if one doesn't believe in gods or God. It states positively what many atheists believe. In this improved second edition, it puts forth a system of belief based on reason and science and common sense into a coherent structure, starting from basic principles, to answer the big questions about our human origins, the puzzle of fate and free will, ethics, how to manage the emotions, why some binds bring new capabilities, friendship, love and mating, the nature of beauty, constructive thinking, rights and freedom and liberty, and more. It synthesizes philosophical ideas with religious thinking shorn of their supernatural aspects.

A few of the many topics covered, in no particular order, include: why the sun spins, how life sprang from inanimate chemicals, why humans dominate the Earth, how Leonardo da Vinci created the Mona Lisa, the rules of life, why we die, why humans believe in religion, why we won't meet aliens, how to cultivate wisdom, why sunsets are beautiful, how the idea of lifting an arm lifts an arm, the flirting formula, the essence of citizenship, why symmetrical faces are beautiful, how top performers practice, keys to career success, and the meaning of life. It is ideal for young persons starting out in life, and for older persons seeking greater understanding.

Provides Encouragement, Peace, and Comfort

This book spans a multitude of topics from life to death, exploring the why and how of existence and presenting various aspects of practice, success, and the meaning of life. It effectively removes the spiritual belief aspect, offering a more solid and concrete explanation.

The author, Thomas Wright Sulcer, offers more solid answers and explanations for how and why things are. He provides insight into religious beliefs by presenting other aspects to explore and understand. He allows for the option of choosing one’s path and offers the opportunity to explore and experience life without divine interference. Further, he explores items and topics that have nothing to do with faith or religion such as how top performers practice, how lifting an arm works, the flirting formula, and more. He provides hope and peace to both those starting their journey and those nearing its end.

As the narrator, Thomas Wright Sulcer provides a pleasant sound. He speaks clearly and while not flawlessly his voice does have a personal and authentic feel to it.

This is an interesting book that provides encouragement, peace, and a sense of comfort to those seeking a more solid foundation without relying heavily on supernatural religious beliefs.
