「電信柱と妙な男」
ある町に人と交流をもたず、夜になると独り外を歩くのが好きな妙な男が住んでいました。ある夜、往来を歩いていると、背の高い大男が歩いてきました。妙な男がおまえはだれかと聞くと、背の高い男は電信柱だと答え、昼間は自分みたいな大きなものは歩けないので、いつも夜に散歩すると言いました。妙な男は世の中の人がみんなきらいで顔をあわせたくないので、今時分歩くのだと言いました。電信柱と妙な男は気が合い、友達になることになりました。身長差がありすぎて話しづらいため、電信柱が妙な男を屋根の上にのせ、二人は夜の中を散歩しました。すると、雲間から月が出てお互いの顔がはっきりと見え、妙な男は電信柱の顔が真っ青で傷があることがわかりました。どうしたのかと聞くと、電信柱は時々恐ろしい電気が通ると真っ青になり、傷口は針金でつつかれた跡だといいました。それを聞いた妙な男は「危険だ、お前さんには触れない」と急に逃げようとしたが、高い屋根から降りられませでした。そうるすうちに夜が明けてきましたが、妙な男は一向に屋根から降りられません。電信柱も帰る時間を遅れてしまい・・・。
「金銀小判」
正月の夜、独り者の幸作は幸作がこたつに入り寝入っていると、お宝船や餅玉の木に結びつけるせんべいの小判を売る子供の声が聞こえました。だれも買ってくれないのをかわいそうに思った幸作は、小判の一包を買ってやりました。その晩、買った小判が本当の金銀小判で自分が大金持ちになった夢を見て、驚きと喜びから目をさましましたが、すべて夢だとわかりがっかりしました。それでも諦めきれず、昨日買った小判を取り出してみますと、本当の金銀小判でありました。幸作はもう一包買えば村中で一番の金持ちになったのにと思いました。幸作は子供をやっとの思いで探し出し、小判を全て買い取りました。彼は勇んで家に帰り、昨夜買った金銀小判を取り出してみると・・・。
