Story
This is a fictionalized version of my late father's World War Two memoirs. It begins in the twenty-fifth century when a mischievous young woman inadvertently travels back in time with her 'toys' of the future. This tale is included in the anthology "Willful Women II". My most memorable experience about this story occurred when an elderly gentleman at a book fair saw the photo my father had taken from a mountaintop of numerous wartime ships gathering in a South Pacific staging area for battle. He excitedly exclaimed, "That's my ship, the U.S.S. West Virginia is one of the ships in this photo...

Story
After discovering an old photograph, an elderly antiques dealer living in present-day Los Angeles is forced to revisit the history he has struggled to deny. The photograph depicts a man and a woman. The man is Peter Force, a young frontier adventurer who comes to New York City in 1901 and quickly lands a job digging the first subway tunnels beneath the metropolis. The woman is Cheri-Anne Toledo, a beautiful mathematical prodigy whose memories appear to come from another world.

Story
In the mid-1870s, a violent spray of comets hits Earth, decimating cities, erasing shorelines, and changing the world's climate forever. And just as Earth's temperature dropped, so was civilization frozen in time. Instead of advancing technologically, humanity had to piece itself back together.... In the 21st century, boats still run on steam, messages arrive by telegraph, and the British Empire, with its capital now in Delhi, controls much of the world.

Story
In an alternate history of Earth, Sir Basil Campbell, a hero of the Battle of Jutland, has helped change the language of the Washington Naval Treaty from its original form. In doing so, Sir Basil's mysterious dreams have spurred an international change in focus towards accelerated development of naval aviation. Part of that involved the two 'Splendid Cats', the Royal Navy battle cruisers HMS Lion and HMS Princess Royal, being converted into aircraft carriers instead of being scrapped. Elsewhere in the world, other navies sacrificed large portions of their battleship fleets to be able to add...

Brutal Start
I really had to power through the beginning of this book. The beginning was brutal. I almost was going to return the audio book but then it slowly started to get better. In the end it was ok. It had the potential to be a lot better but I'm glad I listened to the whole story.

Best book I’ve read in a long time. As good as one of my all time favorites, Charm School by Nelson DeMille.
This is an amazing book, love the topic, love the characters, I think all Americans should read this book. The virtual voice needs a lot of work. Somebody didn’t program this AI to know how to pronounce plurals or possessives, so instead of Japan’s, it pronounces as Japan-es, instead of Moe’s it pronounces Moe-es. Virtual voice has a long way to go to sound like a real live human with voice inflections, emphasis on appropriate words, pauses at appropriate times and even pronunciation of certain words and places. Kadena is supposed to be Ka-deen-a, not Ka-den-ah. I would love to hear this book narrated by one of our very accomplished HUMAN narrators.

this is the worst white agreement bs sh*t I've ever herd in my life. It was like Fox News wrote it.
I'm literally ill from this book, trust me you're better off putting your head next to a bullhorn for an hour then listening to this bs.
