My doubt has been erased.
Before reading this book I had a lot of doubts in my head as to weather or not I could be a leader of people. This book helped me squash my doubts and not I fully believe in myself. This book also gives you practical advice so if you’re wanting to improve on your leadership skills then look no further!

Straightforward book
I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, but this book turned out to be a solid listen. The author keeps things simple, clear, and straight to the point which I actually appreciated. There's no fluff or over-the-top jargon, just real, actionable advice for becoming a better leader in both personal and professional settings. The structure of the book makes it really easy to follow. Each "secret" is broken down into manageable chunks, and most of the points felt grounded and relatable. If you’ve read a ton of leadership books, you might find some familiar ideas here, but Burns brings a fresh clarity to them that makes the content feel more approachable and less like a lecture.
As for the narration Whispering Waves Audio did a decent job. The voice is calm and professional, though maybe a little too soothing at times. I wouldn't have minded a bit more energy or variation in tone, but it didn't distract from the content. Overall, this is a great audiobook for someone who's newer to leadership or just wants a quick, motivating refresher. It’s not overly long, and it feels like you're getting practical wisdom from a mentor rather than being preached to. Definitely worth a listen if you're looking to grow as a leader.

Good book
Listened to this on my drive to Redding for a medical exam. Solid leadership advice with clear and practical strategies. Felt personal and encouraging throughout. It did get a bit repetitive at times, but not enough to ruin it.

Very useful skills
I have noticed that a lot of managers and administrators lack leadership skills. I personally earned a Masters degree in business management a couple of decades ago. At that time it seemed like there was a lot of competition and an abundance of qualified leaders. Not so much today. As just one example from this book: listening skills. How does a leader expect to solve problems without listening? You certainly can't build a team and loyalty without it. And yet ask yourself just that one question, how well do leaders listen in your organization? Well, may managers learn principles of leadership from this book. They are much needed in today's organizations.

Why True Leaders are Successful. You can be Too!
I love the emphasis on productivity; specifically, focusing on one single task at a time instead of trying to take on the whole ocean, which inevitably leads to stagnation. Boy, do I know that feeling.
