From May 1967 through May 1968, Ted Arthurs was in the thick of it, humping an eighty-pound rucksack through triple canopy jungle, chasing down the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese in the Central Highlands of South Vietnam. As sergeant major for a battalion of eight-hundred men, it was his job to see them through this jungle hell and get them back home again.

On April 10, 1970, Hill 927 was occupied by troopers of the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division. By July, the activities of the artillery and infantry of Ripcord had caught the attention of the NVA (North Vietnamese Army) and a long and deadly siege ensued. Ripcord was the Screaming Eagles's last chance to do significant damage to the NVA in the A Shau Valley before the division was withdrawn from Vietnam and returned to the US.

About the Author Len Vincenti has a wealth of life experiences. Len received a B.A. from the University of Florida with a degree in English literature and creative writing. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Navy, where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam as a naval advisor to a squadron of Vietnamese Navy river minesweeping boats. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. Upon discharge from active duty, he attended Stetson University College of Law in Florida. Every Weapon I Had is an inspiring tale of valor and sacrifice, set against the backdrop of major escalations in both the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights movement. Major Richard J. "Dick" Meadows is renowned in military circles as a key figure in the development of the U.S. Army Special Operations.
