Almost all of us have had some sort of traumatic experience, but each person deals with it differently. Depending on the experience and the personality and biology of the person who experiences it, they may suffer immensely or feel little to zero effect. Trauma is often thought of as severe or extremely harmful experiences, but trauma is actually a reaction to an event, not the event itself. And a seemingly mild or straightforward experience can cause you trauma and affect the rest of your life.
