Everything in 12-year-old Pilar Violeta “Purp” Ramirez’s world is changing, and Pilar doesn’t care for it one bit. In a great time of turmoil in his life, Mekal is visited by the Angel Kala. Kala talks a great deal with Mekal and gives him two precious gifts. The story tells all that happens to Thomas and Mekal as a result of those gifts.
